The images of the faltering lotus leaf and the waterlily were taken in the garden ponds at the RBG.

The camera settings shown are of the lotus leaf (main image). The pond was cleared of unwanted reflections/plants and the waterlily was added for visual balance.

The idea for this image stemmed from witnessing a single duck standing on this felled tree. A closeup of the tree surface became a natural camouflage setting for me to hide a few ducks... seven, to be exact.

Thanks to all who have taken time to view, comment, and fave my photo - I truly appreciate it.

Images taken today... the subtle colour tones of the tree line in the falling snow compliment those of the added white horse. To balance the image I wanted a hazy sun and used a "supernova with no points" special effect . Although the images were taken in different locations, the lighting remained consistently the same. The camera settings shown are for the main image.

Denali National Park is a magical place, and a great way to enjoy it is in little cabin like this one.

When it's a blustery day along any coastal town in Alaska - what is more fun than poking into all of the local artisan shops, and finding that unique item to take home and treasure. After the shopping is done - you then pop into a local eatery for your favorite brew (Alaska Amber for me) and an order of fish and chips straight from the icy waters that surround our beautiful state.

The challenge in this image was creating enough RGB noise to blend in the lotus leaf with the background texture (grain).
