I can't believe that this old bus is still on the road. It reminded me of the days of hippie's and flower children.

How important is it to choose the right paths in life?

I hope I am making the right choice.

Constructive critiques welcome.

Twelve degrees below zero this morning, and it will be even colder tonight. My heart goes out to all of the critters that share my beautiful boreal forest. This big kitty-cat is lucky to have such big feet - it's what keeps him walking on top of the snow.

Golden Gull or Golden Girl? This waterscape scene was shot at the Ponce De Leon Historical Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. It is a mecca for sunset lovers and plumed bird watchers alike.

Obvioiusly, I'm still having fun using my photographs as the foundation for creating composites (hopefully others besides me will view it as an artistic expression). This composite was created using the original scene shot on the shoreline of Charlotte Harbor in the Ponce De Leon Historical Park in Punta Gorda, Florida (sans the kayak and seagulls). The kayak/kayaker and all of the seagulls were royalty free downloads (my thanks to those photographers!). However, the boat in the background was part of the original scene.

When I spotted this old dock - I thought of all of the scary ghost stories that could be woven around it. Bet my Flickr friends could come up with some dandies.

Original picture taken by iPhone and digitally manipulated by PicsArt App. While absent from Flickr, I have been entertaining myself using some of the free apps available to IOS and Android users. I have spent satisfying hours playing with these and loading the end result onto my Instagram page. This is just a sample from my latest offerings to show you I have not been wholly uncreative while AWOL :)

Almost never captured in images of water reflections are the fleeting moments... a dragonfly, a butterfly ...or more.

The right-side-up reflections image of the water plants was taken at the RBG gardens.

If only these old cabins could talk - I'll bet, they could tell some mighty tall tales. They were built back in the forties and fifties and were temporary homes to a lot of moose hunters. At that time it sure beat camping in a tent in bear country.

. . . In a hissing cry it said, "I am a wood dragon".

I think cabin fever has gripped me. When I passed by our wood box today - I noticed a tiny piece of bark jutting out of a birch log. On closer inspection, it looked like a fierce little creature complete with a mouth. I grabbed a shot, before Doc fed the log into our woodstove. Goodbye little dragon. Now you are literally a "fire breathing dragon".

(Manipulation: Removal of noise, thereby softening the rough wood. One slider to warm the dragon. Light source: natural from nearby window. And finally, a Vinette to darken the dragon's surroundings.)

True to its name, I thought a monochrome approach would be most appropriate ... with a touch of selective colour because, after all, it is colour that we readily accept when it comes to images of butterflies.

It's not uncommon for great white egrets and blue herons to winter up north as long as there is access to open water/food... for this reason this compilation of past images doesn't appear to be too far-fetched.

Double self portrait. Seems to me it trickles back up.

I am having fun watching my little hydroponic gardens produce. One is strictly for heritage cherry tomatoes, and in this image you see the formation of the first tomato.
