A beautiful September morning in Alaska reminds me of that old song "September Morn" sung by Neil Dimond.

I managed to sneak my camera lens into the center of an artificial autumn bouquet, and found berries smaller than a 1/4 of an inch. With the right lighting, it looked like I was surrounded by a magical Lilliputian world.
I uploaded this image to include in my "White" album series... previously 'Explored' under "garussell11", this image will be included in other groups only if invited.

Since the summer season is so short in Alaska, container gardening is very popular. I spotted this pretty little corner in bloom recently, and just was drawn to the vibrant colors. Now when falling temperatures claim the flowers - I will have this photo as a reminder of the soft days of summer.

High on a hill surrounded by magnificent scenery - these two cabins sit abandoned. I'd love to know their story.

Caribou Creek is surrounded by a steep climb and decent on both sides. Doc found a place to pull off under a bridge, and I hopped out to capture this image. Where I stood, Dall sheep were playing and foraging earlier in the week.
When you live in rural Alaska - it is almost like living in a humongous zoo. You never know what kind of wildlife will pop out of the forest.
Follow me home and we'll have a "mug-up".
("Mug-up" is an Alaskan term for a nice hot mug of your favorite beverage.)
Wishing all of my Flickr friends a wonderfully happy weekend.

As we slide ever so gently into the month of October, I find myself closing the blinds shortly after dinner, and curling up by the fireside. A hush falls over the wilderness, and only the sound of an owl can be heard in the distance. A moose walks silently by our cabin window, and I marvel at how such a big beast can move about so quietly.
As I take yet another sip from my cup of warm cocoa - I reach out for my latest novel, and in the glow of the firelight, I get lost once again in the story of another time and place.
