MS Paint drawing
Some value stuff going on here, a little more velvety than the other sketches I did around the same time. Layering those close values over one another, basically visual weaving/optical mixing. Good times.

Sometime ago, the Northwest Houston Photo Club had a competition to design a new sleeve patch. While working on my entry, my wife, Janet, objected to a silhouette I had drawn of a Leica like rangefinder camera. I was going for graphic simplicity that would convert to embroidery, not realism. She kept adding to her demands. First she just wanted to see chrome, then it was textured leather and finally a lens. I sketched in the various elements to please her and in the processes wondered how well a likeness of a camera could be created in Corel's Paint Shop Pro. I took her Leica M3 out of the storage closet and began a day long process of learning to create dials, chrome and various digitally drawn camera components. I only include this to confirm that my entire life does not revolve entirely around abstract images. You will also find this drawing incorporated into another image here, Digital Trompe L Oeil No. 5. Someday I will pull this out again and add the strap lugs which I originally forgot.

“Half-Watt” is a character I created first my doodling at work in a scheduling book. Ha-ha. Years passed and I found the original drawing in an old art folder and decided to finish him up. So what I did was take a photo of him with my iPad, opened the photograph in an app called “Procreate” From there I just started with inking him with the Apple Pencil. Added some layers of shadow, added a little bit of color, and the background was a really distorted picture I took with my phone. BAM! Half-Watt lives!!!
Drew this guy from an image of an owl from the Jacksonville Zoo - took some liberties with the color. For info on how this was done, check out my very short blog at www.digitalladysyd.com/?p=6978
i had been doing my hair like heidi hair because it was so hot in late august - 365amydrawings.tumblr.com/post/9946238268/heidi
Artist-in-Residence Sarah Comfort appreciates this specific, familiar graphic quality of digital imagery. “If you look at my lines, you can see that they’re pixelated,” she says. “It’s normal for a digital image to try to fool the eye into thinking it’s something else, something real. But I’m not trying to hide that these were created on a computer.” Read more about Sarah on our blog: bit.ly/sarah-comfort
Digital owl drawing created by me and made into stickers! Laminated and hand-cut by me too! (Part of my Sticker sets available on Etsy).
quick pencil sketch of a character that I might make into a plush/puppet.
trying out different painting/drawing type brushes in photoshop.
might try an illustrator outline too.
Using a portrait from: www.morguefile.com/archive/display/955580 - I liked the emotion in the face which I wanted to explore. I used a variety of filters and then used Topaz Labs Simplify to add a softer pastel effect. I then used Google Nik Software Analog Effects 2 Wet Plate Filter to create the surrounding marks.
