This is a fairly large and elongate digger wasp. The first two yellow bands on the abdomen are usually strongly marked. There is a yellow line across the front of the thorax and a yellow dot at the rear.
This wasp stocks its nest chamber with adult Diptera for the larvae to feed on. Muscidae, Syrphidae and Tabanidae are the preferred choices.
Common and widespread.

Ingredients -
150g butter
1 rounded tbspn golden syrup
175g granulated sugar
75g self-raising flour
75g desiccated coconut
100g porridge oats
Method -
1. Lightly grease baking trays and preheat oven to gas 4, 180C, 350F. Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a medium saucepan and heat gently until melted. Stir in the dry ingredients and mix well until evenly blended.
2. Spoon large teaspoonfuls of the mixture well apart on the prepared baking trays and flatten slightly with the back of the spoon. Yo should have enough for about 45 rounds. Bake for 8-10 minutes until they have spread out flat and are lightly browned at the edges.
3. Leave to cool on the trays for a few minutes, then carefully lift them off with a palette knife and place on a wire rack to cool completely. If the biscuits harden too much to life them off the tray, pop hem back into the oven for a few minutes to soften. Store in an airtight tin.
They need to replace the tracks of the tram between the stops Mainstation and Löwenplatz. They have 48 hours - and they will succeed.

Like many of the original Diggers who were young men in their late teens , this young lad wears the garb authentic to the time . The lady in the background dressed in the period of the First World War is in reality the mother of these two young men . Its a real family affair this re-enactment business .

This is my submission for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day 2013. I got several images that I like on 4/28/13, but this is the one I'm most pleased with. I like how sharp the grass, the tires, and that bright, white car you can see between the tires all are. I like how small children point and yell "digger!" whenever they see earth moving equipment. I feel the same way when I get to see these big machines.
Image made with a P-Sharan STD-35 cardboard pinhole camera and Kodak Gold 200 film with an approximately 45 second long exposure.
My nephew celebrated his second birthday yesterday and his latest passion is construction vehicles, so there was really only one choice of theme for his cake.
There was a digger at the rear.
These digger bees are really something. They are bigger than most bees and have an enormous proboscis for sipping nectar. These bees are drawn mostly to the currant bush's yellow flowers. The scent from these blossoms is highly fragrant and very spicy smelling. I just love when the sun hits the flowers, the aroma just fills the air!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthophorini

Wiking 1/87 - 065806 - Schaeff HR18 mini digger - orange
A bargain picked up at the last model show before the coronavirus lockdown began. I had no particular need for a mini digger but couldn't resist adding it to the layout for what it cost.
