To show the difference between a cormorant and a shag. The cormorant is paler with a longer bill, shag is darker with a stouter heavier bill. Think the shag tends to have a greener eye. Their crowns are different....but you can't see them in these photos!!!

There is a skin tone difference even though they are both NS. But I cannot say anything about how it would look in natural light because it's so dark (we had first snow today so it's pretty grizzly).
To me it looks just a tad more pinkish, but not in a way that I would say it's not NS anymore.
