know the difference between looking and seeing.

geez, makeup changes everything about a look.

i had a wierd, awkward, unrestful day. it left me feeling like melting into a puddle and not moving. hopefully i get rest tonight. 5 shows tomorrow!

What’s the difference between a collapse, a downfall, and a downright apocalypse? How will it all end, and why do we love to wonder? Ice or fire, zombies or bombs? Out with a bang or a whimper? And can we do anything to stop the decline?

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, the new free exhibition at Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin, will explore why the disastrous can be devilishly entertaining, and whether there’s any truth to these dismal predictions. Join doomers, designers, and doctors as they lay out the top threats to our world, evaluate how likely they are, and spell out exactly what we can do about it. The exhibition opened on 13th October and runs until 11th February 2018. For more information, visit dublin.sciencegallery.com/icoe.

Day 3 of #AllanAugust! Here’s Wesley, my third Allan I got a few months after my second one at a doll show. He was intended as a sort of “Vanilla” Allan I didn’t customise at all since I felt like I already had two customised ones.

But, Wesley had paint rubs in his hair, and eventually I found better condition Allan dolls to take his place so I was inspired by @dolldirt to make a brunet Allan.

Wesley’s body is actually Peter’s original armless body I ended up putting Fashionista Ken arms in and replacing the pelvis with articulated Ken hips so his head isn’t modified at all but he has articulation.

Of course though, despite Allan having a bit of attitude and sass by default, I really think the factory differences on Wesley make him look a bit milder and more approachable so he’s probably like, the youth minister for my other Allan dolls.

A high "beauty-style" butterfly lighting (right) can accent the lines under the eyes. Lighting from the side (left) helps prevent this. Maybe a fill from below would help eliminate those shadows as well.

Il Danubio fa riflettere.

Il Danubio mi ha illuminata. In poco tempo, tante cose. Tante cose fantastiche. Tante cose orribili.

Pride.be - Pride 2018 - Your Local Power

Feeling free and at home in your neighborhood, town or city. Be and show yourself in the streets. Holding hands with the person you love and smiling at each other in public. Our personal lives occur in the public space. Considering the approaching communal elections, everyone (youngsters, seniors, families, couples and all people - no matter what gender or orientation) asks the local politicians: How do you make a difference? What do you do to improve diversity in our everyday life? Where the rain makes way for the sun, we will walk proudly under the rainbow!

We will all be heading to the voting booths for the local elections on 14th of October. Deciding which circle to colour in is an important decision. A conscious decision can lead to a better living environment in your city or municipality.

And we're not just talking about the redesign of the local park, the policies in the municipal school, or the proper functioning of the local Public Centre for Social Welfare. Your local municipal or city administration can also make a real difference and turn the place where you live into a true rainbow bubble, if that's what you'd like, of course.

So it's no wonder that this year's Pride is focusing on the local elections. Belgian Pride is putting the municipalities and cities in the limelight in 2018, or better yet, at the end of the rainbow! We want the slogan 'Your Local Power!' to encourage municipal and city administrations to enact explicit, integrated local LGBTI+ policies.

Municipalities and cities can and must make the difference. They must accept responsibility for the well-being of all their residents. Flying the rainbow flag at the local government offices during the Pride period is a symbol of this. This is also a way that the municipality or city can show their solidarity with the LGBTI+ community. This symbolic gesture is not an infringement on neutrality. On the contrary, we can only actively work on ending all forms of discrimination once there is recognition for diversity and inclusion.

Policy-makers can make the lives of many citizens that much rosier by taking both small and large actions: by introducing a diversity charter in sports clubs, by making information on gender and sexuality available at the local libraries, by providing logistical and financial support to local associations, testimonials, and courses in the municipal education system, by holding a queer film festival in the local movie theatre or cultural centre, by holding LGBTI+ actions in community centres and youth centres, by providing information on what to do if you are the victim or witness of discrimination, by offering space for intimacy and (LGBTI+) sexuality in assisted-living centres, by training local police precincts and municipal officials, by including Equal Opportunity as an explicit competence within the city administration, etc.

The list of things that cities and municipalities can do is endless. Plus, many of these actions are very easy to implement. Sometimes, your local administration only needs a little boost, and you can give them that boost in the voting booth on 14th of October. A good local administration meets the needs and requirements of all residents. What does the LGBTI+ community in your city or municipality need?

You can already send the politicians a signal that is loud and clear on Saturday, the 19th of May. Make your wishes heard during the Belgian Pride.

We hope to see you there! Everyone is welcome!

Servite High School's 6th Annual Gala: Staging the Difference took place on Saturday, February 7 at the Anaheim Hilton. Thank you to the Gala co-chairs, the Gala committee, event sponsors and all those who attended the event. It was a night filled with dinner, dancing and lots of fun.

The Make a Difference Area at Summer Camp is located just outside the main walkway to the Moonshine Stage and hosts a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. We hope that the education these groups provide at their booths and during panel discussions in the Soulshine Tent will increase your awareness of important environmental and human rights issues, and inspire you to get involved and take action in a positive way…both locally and around the world!

I just had to share this with everyone, the small picture next to me was taken a little over 2 years ago.

Yes it is me, and really shows how much I have changed in appearance since November 2007. Most of these changes have occurred on their own and according to my Doctors at both the VA in Palo Alto and Stanford Medical Center have said this may happen to 1 in 5 to 10 million people over the age of 50. Needles to say going 24/7 was of necessity .

An automatic, mechanical calculator first designed by Charles Babbage in 1822, and if completed would have been he first calculator/computer ever developed. The columns held the values of the polynomials, and the machine programmed by shifting the discs to the initial set of polynomial values, then cranking it up to determine each new set of values. As it was, after the costs of building the device skyrocketed, the British government removed financial support, ending the project. This device was the first one built in 1991 based on Babbage's designs, and despite a few minor errors works flawlessly.
