18th December 2020:
What a difference a day makes. Raining again and blowing a howler, so a quick photo out of the hall window of the December view.
Hadn't got the camera on the right settings, but then couldn't be bothered with a retake. Partly because as I'm also waiting for important news from my sister and don't want to be far from the laptop.
Today's Silly News it's : National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-ugly-christmas-sweater-d...
I haven't even got a Christmas jumper, but the one Graham has is rather a good one.
Or : National Roast Suckling Pig Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-roast-suckling-pig-day-d...
Oh, if only, it sounds delicious.

(Breathes in the difference in the air..) As I begin to think as the air releases from my lungs opening my eyes visually seeing a area for adults.. "Whew talk about relaxation!." Feeling a rush of excitement as I see the drinks and nacho platter on the table.. Realizing that I get to have a moment of quiet where everything slows down just so I can take in this moment. Bringing the glass up making sure to not mess up my new Mama's loungey set from MAMADUE "Here's to solance!"

What a difference a day makes; last Friday I was at a press call for the Moscow State Circus and the on Saturday I photographed a massive Orange Lodge march through Johnstone involving over 40 bands (it took at least 40 minutes to pass my viewpoint). While most people probably think that such marches are only held in Northern Ireland they are very much part of life here in Scotland as well as in parts of England. The weather was kind for once, if not a little too sunny given the length of their march, marching all round the town while playing their instruments and carrying their various banners is no mean feat!!

Makes no difference if you are sleeping and you are dreaming that you are awake and if you believe that you are awake though you're actually sleeping. What makes the difference is to realize what's happening. IPYSM

On Wednesday morning I cut a hole out in the wall, we then threaded the beam through the hole, and propped it. I then dropped the doorway opening; and I took out the fireplace in the background.
Of course the bricks that were taken out needed stacking (ready for cleaning, and re-use). The debris needed taking down the stairs to the skip outside. This is the first floor of the building.
On Thursday morning I straightened up the sides of the door opening, ready to take the lintels next week. I can then wall up above the lintels, remove the beam and take out the props.
I started to wall up the fireplace opening in the background too.

Hunslet "Large Quarry" class 0-4-0ST no. 855 Hugh Napier (built in 1904 for Penrhyn Quarries, but now owned by the National Trust) trundles into Dduallt station with a rake of empty tipplers. Taken during a David Williams photo charter. [Pole, 2.5/6 sections (~3.3m)]
This was the morning of the second of the two days at the Festiniog Railway, the last of eight days of Welsh narrow gauge steam (although I didn't partake in the first four). As on the previous day, the two trains had come from Glan-y-pwll yard at Blaenau Ffestiniog coupled together, and we boarded at Tanygrisiau. However, instead of running Hugh Napier round and then running the trains separately to Dduallt, the whole formation - with Hugh Napier leading and Palmerston giving a helping hand from the middle where necessary - continued to Dduallt, where the remarshalling took place: Hugh Napier was detached and ran into the siding, Palmerston moved the whole train beyond the siding, Hugh Napier ran out of the siding and coupled to the tipplers, and the two trains were then separated from each other. The plan was to do some shots on the northern side of Moelwyn Tunnel, alongside the Tanygrisiau Reservoir, but we'd travel there in the train rather than walk from Dduallt - although I'm not sure why we needed to go via Dduallt.
The weather forecast for today was poorer than previously, with cloud forecast for the morning and then sunny spells during the afternoon. However, when we arrived here, a small hole appeared in the cloud and began to move towards the sun, so we decided to grab a few shots while we had some sun. I'd expected that if we were quick we might get one run-past in sun, but the blue patch kept getting bigger and we ended up having several run-pasts; Hugh Napier then headed back up the line, and we repeated the exercise with Palmerston on the passenger train.
Unfortunately, by the time we were alighting from the train near the reservoir, the last of the morning's brightness was just disappearing - but coming straight back up from Dduallt instead of spending twenty minutes doing run-pasts there would have not really made a difference, as we still had to walk into position; at least we already had some sunny shots in the bag, which had not been expected. We then spent about forty minutes doing run-pasts alongside the reservoir, but the cloud was getting thicker and the light levels lower, plus it looked like some rain might be on its way... so we made the decision to return to Tanygrisiau to warm up in the café near the station (the temperature had dropped below freezing overnight) and then head out again closer to the time the next sunny spells were due to arrive. I don't think anyone objected to the extended refreshment break!

auf Wunsch von Kristina hier noch eine weitere Version. Für mich eher inakzeptabel, da die hellen Himmelsbereiche ausgefressen wirken und dafür jede Menge räumliche Tiefe einfach ins Grau verschwindet.
I'm sitting at work on Monday and I notice that it is getting darker outside. I figured it was going to rain, so I didn't pay it any more attention. Well it got a lot darker and I looked out the wondow and it was looking a bit nasty so I quickly went to www.wixt.com our news channel to look at the radar to see what was going on. In red right up at the top of the page was TORNADO WARNING. I know the difference between watch and warning adn all we have ever really gotten up here were watches, which means that the conditions are favorable to produce a tornado. THe warning means that something is up and you need to keep your eye to sky and pay attention to your surroundings because one is trying to form or one has already formed and is on the ground.
I quickly went over to the weather channel website and got more details. It was telling me that at 2:50 this storm would be right where I was. The time was 2:45. All I wanted to do was to get home to my house and my kids. School dismissal is at 2:50. I fly out the door at work, jump in the van, pull to the end of the driveway away from all the trees and come face to face with this lovely wall cloud. I'm telling you I almost wet my pants. Since I only live 5 miles away I figured I would get home rather quickly. Well I thought wrong. About a mile away from work I started getting pounded by hail that was the size of half dollars. It was so loud inside my van. The intensity and the loudness was just insane. The whole lasted for about 5 minutes but I swear it was the longest 5 minutes of my life. No tornado actually touched down, but it tried forming several times out of this wall cloud. This shows the time elapsed photography from our news website:

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

It might be hard to believe, but to date 46100 has traversed the Settle Carlisle four times, and three of those have been the day after 46115. A rather spooky statistic!
Taken just 24 hours and 3 minutes apart from the previous photo, 46100 'Royal Scot' heads north near Low House Crossing with The Fellsman.
As noted in the prior scan, 130 and 129 had a split fuel tank, one for fuel and one for boiler water. This shows the difference with sister 159, which has the standard 1/2 fuel tank and the other half as added weight that included a tool box, spare knuckles and chains. Ah, the sound of that Nathan P5...
Thanks again a million Jérémie for the great inspiration and for the precious assistance in the preparation of this fantastic trip to the Falklands.... The photo was taken within a few days of the previous posting but on a different Island. There was such a dramatic difference in the size of the chicks. The Islands located in the west part of the Falklands have a reputation to generally offer a more friendly weather than the Islands locate in the East. The nature can be very harsh for the wildlife in the Falklands but birds display an amazing level of resilience.
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday it was overcast and raining - today it's a fine but 'Crisp Autumnal' start!
It's 10.00am on Sunday 9th October 2016 - the final day of the Great Central Railway's 2016 Autumn Gala.
