One of my favorite sunset images was the by product of a dying storm near Elk City, Oklahoma this year. The heavy rain was masking out the sun in the back, but not enough to completely block it out. As a result, it illuminated the clouds and turned the rainfall orange.

THANK YOU for all your lovely comments, invitations & awards.

The cloudberry is a perennial plant that reaches heights of 5 to 25 centimeters. When planted alongside dwarf shrubs such as bog bilberry and marsh Labrador tea, heights of up to 45 cm are observed. Upright, unbranched, non-woody, and thornless stems emerge from an underground rhizome. The alternate leaves are weakly palmate, five- to seven-lobed, and serrated at the edges. A stipule, only a few millimeters long, is located at the base of each leaf. The leaves are up to 20 centimeters wide. In autumn, the foliage turns a deep red.

From mid-May onward, white, occasionally reddish, solitary terminal flowers appear, each with four to eight, usually five, petals and sepals. They are short-lived and quickly lose their petals in the rain. The plant is dioecious. The female flower bears numerous greenish carpels, while the male flower has many filaments with yellow anthers. Pollination is carried out by insects. The flowering period lasts until the end of June, and the fruit ripens accordingly at different times. By July, aggregate drupes up to 2.5 centimeters in size ripen,[1] consisting of up to 25 drupelets. The ripening fruits are initially greenish and completely enclosed by the sepals, then pale red, and finally yellow-orange. With insufficient sunlight, the red stage is skipped. The cloudberry is ripe as soon as the outer sepals curl away from the fruit. At this stage, it is very soft and correspondingly difficult to pick. Therefore, unripe fruits are often picked, which then ripen in the sun. The cloudberry is a perennial plant and reaches heights of between 5 and 25 centimeters.

There was a bomb cyclone coming to the Bay Area today. I hope the historic Bayside Cannery would remain intact. As you can see from this photo taken by me yesterday, the building is not really in good shape. The owner has not anything to restore the building. I doubt that it would survive a few more storms.

Goodbye England's rose

May you ever grow in our hearts

You were the grace that placed itself

Where lives were torn apart

You called out to our country

And you whispered to those in pain

Now you belong to heaven

And the stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life

Like a candle in the wind

Never fading with the sunset

When the rain set in

And your footsteps will always fall here

Along England's greenest hills

Your candle's burned out long before

Your legend ever will

Loveliness we've lost

These empty days without your smile

This torch we'll always carry

For our nation's golden child

And even though we try

The truth brings us to tears

All our words cannot express

The joy you brought us through the years

And it seems to me you lived your life

Like a candle in the wind

Never fading with the sunset

When the rain set in

And your footsteps will always fall here

Along England's greenest hills

Your candle's burned our long before

Your legend ever will

Goodbye England's rose

May you ever grow in our hearts

You were the grace that placed itself

Where lives were torn apart

Goodbye England's rose

From a country lost without your soul

Who'll miss the wings of your compassion

More than you'll ever know

And it seems to me you lived your life

Like a candle in the wind

Never fading with the sunset

When the rain set in

And your footsteps will always fall here

Along England's greenest hills

Your candle's burned out long before

Your legend ever will
