BTW: Every time I looked at this photo I thought that "coffie" looked somehow wrong. Now I realised that it IS wrong... It's "coffee" of course. Stupid me! :-(
Ah, perhaps THE most cherished possession of mine...
As you might know, most Japanese students have an electronic dictionary but I had adamantly refused to get one, just because I was thinking I should eat better food if I had enough money to get a dictionary. But when I found this one, a TRIlingual (and more!) dictionary, I surenderred unconditionally and never regretted once.

I'm actually not 100% certain if that's the English dictionary. My father had two large dictionaries like that -- one English and another Latin. The kid next to me was our neighbour at the time, who was a year younger than me.
Not entirely sure why I'm wearing sandals inside.
I opened the dictionary at random (moving towards the back pages). I found the results interesting. The words almost seemed to go tell a story, though I'm not sure what it means. Try it and see if you find the same happens!
My grandfather and my father both were ophthalmologists and they both practiced in this clinic which was closed two years before my father passed away (2000). We pretty much left things as they had always been. Today we went to family cemetery where they rest. I took some photos of old stuff in the clinic(which was the successor of the older ophthalmology hospital).
Noah Webster 1758-1843 I have several versions of his dictionaries in my library. Webster served in the Revolutionary War.
