Diving multiple times, the Goldeneye devoured at least six crabs in about 30 minutes as Sylvia www.flickr.com/photos/tahitihut/ and I enjoyed the show. Eared and Pied-billed Grebes hung around hoping for scraps.
After eating each crab the Goldeneye drank, then stretched its neck up high as if to help swallow the crab.
When finally satisfied, the goldeneye began extensive grooming. At times it looked like a dog scratching its belly. Can you imagine the grebe looking on saying, "You look ridiculous!"

I took my mom to Devour, a new-ish tasty little restaurant. Of course I had the lamb shank with polenta (despite being a vegetarian for ten years, I just can't get enough of the lamb). She had borscht and a tasty muffaletta with meat from Choux Choux Charcuterie. Everything is so good here, for the most part made with local seasonal ingredients.
