My Atlanta garden
My passion flower vines have been devoured by hundreds of caterpillars, but there are still a few leaves left for the late arrivals. Lots of these beauties flying around the yard, but they, too, are hard to capture!
Like someone who’s pulling a rope that will break
Pulling, pulling, pulling, pulling, pulling…
Without realizing, brushing a little more,
Eyes still closed to avoid facing
That the air is made of crystal,
That can shatter,
That, even if it looks weird, I want to devour you.
That the air is made of crystal,
That can shatter,
That, even if it looks weird, I want to devour you.
She didn’t care about crashing in a corner of her mouth
Like the wave that gives itself over to the rock
Lost in the abyss of those hands with no end
Bigger enough to hug all her planet
You’re not here right now
I’m not here right now
But silence is the most eloquent way of lying
You’re not here right now
I’m not here right now
But silence is the most eloquent way of lying
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my body used to live
A piece of your smell
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my eyes used to live
A piece of pain
You’re here right now
I’m here right now
Hug me to make me think of you sometime
You’re here right now
I’m here right now
Hug me to make me think of you sometime
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my body used to live
A piece of your smell
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my eyes used to live
A piece of pain
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my body used to live
A piece of your smell
Your silence lives in mine
And somewhere in my eyes used to live
A piece of pain
The air is made of crystal
That can shatter
That, even if my lips aren’t talking
I want to devour you...

The fog uses it's stealth
and like a snake wraps it's coils around it's prey
squeezing the life force from within.
Devoured by droplets and mist
I succumb to the Night's servant.
Leaving my reality to decay.

I can't resist going down the beach if there's any possibility of a decent sky, or a chance of a sunset. After a chill walk, the sun burst through the dappled cloud as it sank behind a low cloud, and devoured the sunset . I'm always yearning for the best sunset ever, so Someone's yearning , by Jock Scott is perfect.
I discovered these remnants on the last steps to the dock, noting two or three more on the lake bottom, and then another two on the bank. Something had discovered and devoured an entire clutch of duck eggs. I have a nesting box by the shore near the dock and have seen ducks (mainly hooded mergansers) regularly inspect it, but the only birds I ever knew to use it were a pair of house swallows and that only once. Unbeknownst to me, it was apparently in use this year as these remains surrounded the site. A mystery as to what feasted on these eggs as there are numerous suspects.
ich wollt ich wär ein Huhn, dann hätt ich nichts zu tun, ich legte jeden Tag ein Ei und Sonntags auch mal zwei😀

The osprey feeds only on fish caught on the surface of the water: they generally weigh between 150 and 350 grams but they can exceptionally reach up to 1 kg and measure from 20 to 35 cm.
Osprey
1st year
He has an unparalleled fishing technique. It locates its target by hovering over it from a height of 10 to 20 meters or by hovering. It then dives, head first, wings folded and clutches forward, immerses only the legs and comes out with its prey which it transports to its nest or on a perch where it devours it.

This specimen of Orthetrum cancellatum had to suffer some mishap to lose its abdomen and climb to the top of the pole.
On one occasion I saw how a wasp devoured the abdomen of a specimen of the same species, after falling to the ground and carrying it hooked on its body.

On the first Saturday in September, International Vulture Awareness Day recognizes the dwindling numbers of vultures. The day not only raises awareness about vulture numbers, but it educates the public, too. Vultures play an essential role in the ecological health of the environment.
These scavengers play a vital role in the food chain. Vultures act as nature’s garbage disposers. When they devour carcasses quickly, vultures keep the environment clean. They also help keep it free of contagious diseases.
Another role vultures play is aiding in catching poachers. When poachers illegally kill animals, they leave the carcass behind. After vultures find the carcass, they circle above the dead animal. This behavior leads authorities to the poached animals.
Because vultures aid authorities, many people kill the birds. After collecting the skins or other prizes, the poachers poison the remaining carcass. Consequently, poisoned vultures then become deadly to other scavengers.
Many species of vultures are considered endangered. Of the 23 species, 16 of them are considered endangered, vulnerable, or threatened.

The hooded vulture (Necrosyrtes monachus) is an Old World vulture in the order Accipitriformes, which also includes eagles, kites, buzzards and hawks. It is the only member of the genus Necrosyrtes, which is sister to the larger Gyps genus, both of which are a part of the Aegypiinae subfamily of Old World vultures.
This bird was one of three there this morning that has been surviving by devouring mosquito fish by the dozens!

Grey Headed Canary Flycatcher
Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher, Culicicapa ceylonensis, Sambar Kepala Kelabu
One of common Flycatchers that can be seen along forest trails and forest edges, usually in pairs. It can be seen chasing flying insects from a particular perch, capturing it in midair, and returning to the same perch to devour it.
Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion's paws, And make the earth devour her own sweet brood; Pluck the keen teeth from the fierce tiger's jaws, And burn the long-liv'd Phoenix in her blood;
Make glad and sorry seasons as thou fleets, And do whate'er thou wilt, swift-footed Time, To the wide world and all her fading sweets.......Shakespeare
Ten white mice were run in a terrarium. Inside were two green mambas. The mice ran happily and interestedly through the terrarium. In the tree above them, the mambas watched the mice. Little by little they give every mouse a fatal bite, then the mambas retreat and wait. The mice showed no reaction from fear or pain. At first they continued to run normally, then they just tipped over. After the last mouse stopped moving, they came from the tree and examined their victims. When the mambas were convinced of the death of their victims, they devoured mouse after mouse. After the big meal was over, they retreated into the tree. The whole thing took about half an hour.
Walk with me, hold my hand
Kiss my lips, in our secret land
Climb the mountains, sail the seas
Taste my body, under the trees
Wrap your lips around my love
Invite my finger in your glove
Feel me slowly devour your skin
As my passion slides within
Your secret land, where you surrender
To my love, together we enter
The saintly place, covered in green
Of the insatiable prince and my beautiful queen

Excellent two hours spent this morning watching the Peregrines. The male went off and came back 20 minutes later with what I think is a Sparrow. The Juvenile promptly took it off Dad and devoured it.
