"The eight legs of the devil are crawling up my spine." Diamanda Galas sentence from "Let my people go" could well have fitted a description of the small blood-sucking mites in my garden. I spend an hour photographing bugs last night, and the ticks were as always present, but not as numerous as last summer. However, I found several ticks in the vegetation. This one is crawling up a grass stem, hopefully reaching a victim sooner or later. During the photoshoot I found nine ticks, three of them on myself. The length of this tick was about 3 mm. It is a handheld and single shot.
After visiting my husband today, I thought I'd better stock the cupboards as we're supposed to get 12-14 inches of snow tomorrow and Thursday. I saw this cute little devil at the grocery store and thought he might make a fun photo for today's challenge.
