Note the device or 'gun' the gentleman on the right is holding. I asked what it fired and the answer was 'nothing'. Now this will sound innocuous to most, but worrying to some as there's far more to 'nothing' than meets the eye. Things are made of atoms and 99.999% of an atom is 'nothing', apart from intra-atomic electromagnetic forces who's repulsive forces keep nuclei and electron orbits where they're supposed to be.
I've heard of these types of guns before and they're far more effective than anyone might think. They allegedly, when fired, emit nothingness. This could be in the form of rays or waves but certainly not particles as particles are made of things. Astonishingly, the 'nothingness' emitted by nothingness guns can NOT be detected anywhere on the electromagnetic spectrum!!!
Although the design of these weapons is still top secret, some believe that just like temperance cannons, they are powered by phlogiston, on the evidence of dephlogisticated residue being deposited after discharge. However, although the workings are secret, the effects themselves are better known with reports of feelings of melancholy or empty-headedness amongst victims. A bit like drinking Merlot wine which itself is like drinking hollowness and which in some ways is similar to nothingness but totally different.
Steampunk event held at Blist's Hill Victorian Town outside Ironbridge in Shropshire on the last weekend in June. Pictures taken on the Sunday 30/06/24.
Steampunk is a movement of like-minded individuals who live an imagined world set in the Victorian age where oil, gas and other fuels have been bypassed in favour of steam power which itself has been highly refined, elaborated on and adapted to all manner of things. Participants are called 'Steamers'.
Her Majesty's Martian Expeditionary Force or MEF as they like to be called, were notable by their absence. Or I just didn't see them. They were probably all busy catching colds.

THE GENEVA WHEEL
This device converts continuous rotary input motion into intermittent output motion, the driven member being prevented from moving except when actually driven. You can find this movement in better-quality spring-wound watches, where it is used to prevent over-winding of the mainspring. In a watch, one of the slots is left uncut, and the device is known as the Geneva Stop.
