The intimate diptych (a painting constructed from two hinged panels) demonstrates Pesellino's celebrated ability to render monumental themes in miniature. The Archangel Gabriel tells Mary she will bear the son of God. Both kneeling, they tenderly mirror each other's gestures. Pesellino pays exquisite attention to detail in Mary's domestic surroundings and the gentle transitions between light and shadow. On the back of each panel, painted in a very different style, are heraldic devices of the Florentine Gherardi family. These may reflect Pesellino's training with his grandfather, who specialised in painting coats of arms.*

Pesellino: A Renaissance Master Revealed
(December 2023 – March 2024)
Discover an overlooked Renaissance great in the first ever exhibition dedicated to Francesco di Stefano, known as Pesellino (1422–1457).
Pesellino’s talents were hugely sought-after during his lifetime. He gained commissions from Florence’s ruling Medici family, and collaborated with the leading artists of his time, including Fra Filippo Lippi.
Working in Florence in the early 15th century, Pesellino had a short but successful career. He was a skilled draughtsman, visual storyteller and a painter of animals, often producing works on a small scale with wonderfully intricate detail. His work inspired the next generation of painters after his early death at the age of 35.
This exhibition uncovers Pesellino’s story and shines a light on the depth and breadth of his achievements.
See up close his masterpieces, including the Pistoia 'Trinity' altarpiece (1455–60) and newly restored 'Stories of David' (about 1445–55) 'cassoni' (marriage chest) panels, and immerse yourself in his world of vibrant storytelling and exquisite detail..

This was my second project for my Intro. to Digital Systems. It doesn't really do much but I added a little display to my project, it was just my little touch. For the most part everyone else just displayed the state using two LEDs in binary. I found these cool little flat LEDs on a Yellow Tale Wine magazine ad so I adhered them behind each of the state representations. So the current state is illuminated in the diagram when the device is in that state.
For his next trick, Fido can defuse the device, but he will require some assistance with the zippers.
