I first saw the XXD load-ding mentioned on Acquire. I purchased it from A+R Store, which, to my knowledge is the only place you can buy it from in the U.S.
Some things to note.
1) You should use the supplied 3M stickytape to stick them together. If you don’t and your wall wart doesn’t apply enough pressure it will fall apart in the middle of the night (which is also why the thing doesn’t line up correctly in the later photos).
2) It stores flat for transport, but then the sticky stuff isn’t going to be so good for you. YMMV
3) They have a cutaway for the U.S. grounding cord if you need it. It also doubles as a mount point for a tackboard pin which they sell separately.
4) It comes in three colors: red, black, and pink. I prefer the one I got.
5) You can buy a bunch, nail them into the wall and use them to store pens and such. They even will sell it in bulk with corporate logos and shit.
This is a new device from Turbolinux which is a few weeks away from hitting the Japanese market and then going global by the end of the year. It lets you boot any PC as your own PC running Linux on it, and lets you carry your files and apps around in your pocket and a whole lot more. These devices are coming out with Omnidrive built into them - hence why we have one of the first units to come off of the production line

"Keeping Track of Time"
I wanted to experiment with trying to keep time by internally feeling it. To do this, I hacked a digital alarm clock so that by pushing external buttons I attached, I could control the progression of the minutes and hours. The final piece consists of two parts, a video documenting a performance of me keeping time for an hour and (in theory) the digital clock automatically replaying the recorded pace of “my time” from the hour long performance displayed next to an accurate analog clock to show the discrepancies between the two. To my surprise, what I found was that I actually fairly accurate. My perception of time though slowed down enormously and I became entirely lost in my toughs. What I thought was a five to ten minute time span in between zoning out and coming back to the present, remembering I had to keep track of the time, was really only about a minute or two.
Photographed this device on a market in Normandy. I think it is something to do with distilling. Looks like some kind of giant fruit press, perhaps for apples to make Calvados. Does anyone know?

Made this after seeing several versions on the net. I thought it would be cool to be able to measure the butt profiles of tubes, especially from bikes that I cut apart. Just to learn a bit more about how they were made.
Does it need to said that the jokes about this may be endless? I think not.

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) joined U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand at Clever Devices, an Oyster Bay business, located in Plainview. Senator Gillibrand was there to announce her initiative to expand the research and development tax credit. These tax credits would be available to companies in order to encourage innovation and job creation among small businesses. At the present time the Research and Development tax initiative expires at the end of every year, leaving the companies to wonder if it will be renewed for the following year. This created uncertainty for the companies. Senator Gillibrand stated that expanding the credit by making it permanent and not annually dependent on renewal would create 162,000 jobs nationwide. Joining Legislator Jacobs were State Assemblyman Chuck Lavine, Frank Ingrassia, President and chief executive of Clever Devices and owners of other prominent businesses on Long Island such as GSE Dynamics and GlobeComm. Jacobs said, "Enhancements to economic growth and stability are the key to a municipality surviving during these stressful economic times. I applaud Senator Gillibrand's efforts."

IdemoLab, DELTA joined forces with KEA's Jewellery Design program and Wearable Technologies in collaboration to create 'Meaningful Jewellery' for their wearable technology project, and to host the Wearable Tech Global Picnic.
At the event "Jewellery of Tomorrow", KEA students from all semesters exhibited their projects (Meaningful Jewellery, Mixed Media, and Portfolio). The Meaningful Jewellery Devices class was part of a collaboration between Vanessa Julia Carpenter of IdemoLab, DELTA and Petra Ahde-Deal of KEA. Vanessa is exploring the Design of Meaningful Smart Devices and introduced to the class how to work with hardware and think about creating non-screen, tangible, embedded interactive devices which create value and are meaningful in people's lives.
In the coming decade, wearable technology will touch nearly every aspect of our lives. The jewellery students from KEA shared their 8-week journey in creating meaningful jewellery devices and their functional prototypes. Understanding the functionalities of different sensors and using the knowledge of design thinking and user experience, the functional jewellery prototypes are the nexus of design, innovation, imagination and function.
An Incendiary device dropped from a Zeppelin...the first incendiary devices to be dropped during World War I fell on coastal towns in the south west of England on the night of 18–19 January 1915 ( as seen here ) ....the small number of German bombs, also known as firebombs, were finned containers filled with kerosene and oil and wrapped with tar-covered rope...they were dropped from Zeppelin airships...on the 8th of September 1915, Zeppelin L-13 dropped a large number of firebombs, but even then the results were poor and they were generally ineffective in terms of the damage inflicted....they did, however, have a considerable effect on the morale of the civilian population of the United Kingdom.....nevertheless, 551 people were killed, 1,358 were seriously injured, by the 5,000 that were deposited on England.....and the damage caused, was valued at, £1.5 million
