Black & White portrait of a Maasai warrior in a remote Maasai village near Amboseli National Park, Kenya.
The Maasai are semi-nomadic pastoralists in Southern Kenya and Tanzania and they are closely related to the Samburu tribe. Similar to the Samburu tribe the young Maasai men between the age of about 15 and 30 are traditionally known as "morans". After the circumcision ceremony the boys enter the age grade "moran", the Maasai word for "warrior". During this life stage they live separated in the bush or they move to special moran manyattas. They learn the tribal customs and develope their strength, courage and endurance. The Maasai morans stop cutting their hair at the age of 15. They dye their long hair with red ochre and also decorate themselves with necklaces and bracelets.

HDR black and white photography by Timothy Selvage. Abandoned farmyard and buildings. Apparently, RUREX is the official name / rural equivalent of URBEX (urban exploration), however, it doesn't have quite the same ring to the name.
I've been wanting to develope a new non-destructive workflow using smart objects, filters in combination with layer masks, however my poor laptop keeps dying on me. I think that the graphics card isn't up to the job which resulted in me processing some of my images in a more simple way (until I can either fix my graphics card, or upgrade my computer).
If you want to find out more or exchange with me you can find me here:
I look forward to exchanging with you.
Ropalidia wasps belongs to the paper wasp family and can be found in Goa which is where I took this photograph. The Ropalidia wasps are at their busiest making new nests during May to July this is because there is plenty of food for them and their quietest times are December to February when the weather is cooler. In the new nests you will find a large number of workers which are females and a smaller number males and the queen. If the queen dies or leaves the nest then another female from that colony will take her place, and during that period of time the new queen can become very aggressive, but she settles down after two or three days, it seems that some females need to have this aggressiveness which helps the new queen finish the development of her body and mature.

A view of the old mill known as Molí de les Pipes and it's medieval bridge, near Arbucies, Catalonia. The building is now a restaurant.
Dry collodion plate, Major Russell process (tannin-collodion) in 4x5 format; taken with a Graflex Speed Graphic, made c. 1951; Graflex Optar f4,7 de 135mm lens; re-used collodion and tannin; exposed for 14 minutes at f5.6 (EV 10). It was quite dark for a dry collodion plate, but it turned out gorgeously contrasted and clean.
The dry collodion is a quite convenient "evolution" from the wet collodion, as it allows to go out there without any box of chemicals and a dark box following you. But it never gained more popularity due to it's own problems, like even more complex manipulations and specially much less sensibility, with expositions in the minutes range, limiting it to landscape photography. This method, discovered by Major Russell in 1861, uses tannin to preserve the sensitivity of the plates once dry.
Glass plates covered with collodion (and previously albuminized, an essential part of the process) are prepared as for a usual wet plate. The moment you take them out of the silver bath, the fun begins. The plate must be washed, under red light, in two trays of distilled water, and then immersed in a solution of water, tannin and ethanol. It's about 10 minutes per plate, in total
Once the exposure is made, even more important is to develope also by immersion. First, the dry plate is moistened with water and ethanol, and then immersed for 5 minutes in a solution of pyrogallic and citric acid, with a few drops of silver nitrate. This starts the development, but it is necessary to add more silver nitrate after five minutes and usually up to 10-12 minutes.

This shot of the lake at Earlswood Common is part of the reflections and ministract sets.
A shot that I have been reluctant to post in some ways, as it looks like H & H and I had just come home from being out on the razzle, fired up Lightroom then just dialled up every switch and knob we could lay our hooves, trotters, and hands on until it looked the colour of some of the stuff we had consumed in the office with some of the village rascals.
I have never seen colours or a mood develope like this ever at Crackpot Haven.
In all fairness I have had to tone this down to make it believable, steady I know what you are thinking, I could go on, however being the clean living fellow that I am, I will just leave you with this wonderful location that is very much worth a visit if you are ever in Cornwall.
Ah I should point out that 2019 is the year of the Pig🐷.
The Pig is the twelfth of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.
This means that Horace will be required to attend many functions🍺🍷💃 in his capacity as an hambassador, a role which he will be taking very seriously😜, he has already been measured up for his tuxedo by ‘Mole Valley Farmers’.
Therefore he may have to take some time away from Flickr this year, however with modern communication we think we will be able to work something out.
One of the possibilities is time travel which Hoof is going to investigate during a space walk from the European Space Station next time he goes up.
Once again thank you all so much for viewing my photos, and the lively comments you leave are so appreciated🐷🐎🎉🎸🍺🍺🍷🍷👍😂😂😂😂

I need to spend more time handling film. I decided today to pull out the exposed rolls from the refrigerator and either develope them or have them developed. This is from a roll of Velvia 50 that I had cross processed. For some reason every shot is color inverted, so I spent some time goofing to get this image. Maybe I should have gone for the slides...
I also went down to the college and developed three rolls of B/W. I did fine(mostly) with the 120 film, but horribly mangled the 35mm film. I'm not sure if practice is enough, but it couldn't hurt...
I'm pretty sure this is from last summer, but I'm not sure which camera I used. I also fogged most of the forth of July pinholes taking the film out of the camera, so I'll scan them, but no promises that there is anything of value.

Towards the south of the municipal area of Perafita, Catalonia, quite far from the village, stands the large countryhouse of Busquets, or Bosquets (in fact, the surname appears with this spelling on a lintel of the facade).
It is one of the largest "masia" in Perafita, documented since 1381, but obviously older. In any case, it seems that most of the current building dates from the beginning of the XVIII Century, with lintels dated 1700, 1701, 1750 and 1816. Apart from the main building, it has a chapel, several sheds, barns, and houses for the farmers and workers.
Unfortunately, it is currently uninhabited, although in apparent good condition and relatively recent repairs done to the roof. Hopefully someone will live there in the near future.

This was the only red calf I saw on my recent visit to this Montana location. It's a few months old with the horns and shoulder hump starting to develope.
The camera is on a downtown city walk.
This statue of five cars balanced on top of a tall cedar tree stump was installed on a temporary basis at Pacific Blvd. and Quebec St. in 2015 as part of the Vancouver Biennale (2014-2016).
The car bodies on top of the old-growth cedar are a Trans Am, BMW, Honda, Cabriolet and Mercedes. The sculpture is by Vancouver artist Marcus Bowcott and his wife, Helene Aspinall.
The future of the Trans Am Totem sculpture is no longer in doubt thanks to a $250,000 donation by Chip and Shannon Wilson founders of Lululemon Athletica.
The Wilsons funding means Trans Am Totem is now a permanent part of the city’s public art collection.
The sculpture will eventually need to move because of the city's 20-year plan to revitalize the northeast False Creek area and develope the surrounding real estate. A new location is yet to be chosen.
The sculpture, a favourite roost for the rats of the sky, looks to be in need of some TLC.
Bowcott’s view of the sculpture:
“The automobile holds a unique position in our culture. It’s a manufactured want and symbol of extremes; practicality and luxury, necessity and waste. We can see this in the muscular Trans Am, the comfortable BMW, and the workhorse Civic. Trans Am Totem also questions the cycle of production and consumption.”
By stacking smashed automobiles and levitating them high above the roadway, Bowcott serves to remind us of the ultimate responsibilities we bear to our planet and future generations.
Trans Am Totem fantasizes a justified end to car culture even as countless automobiles zoom past on asphalt and concrete ribbons and ooze pollutants and spent carbon fuels into the atmosphere.
The artist’s vision of Nature triumphant subversively reminds us ultimately of our ongoing contributions to global warming and further environmental degradation.

Most of my pieces and series tend to develope by themselves and not very often respond to a deliberate effort. This is precisely the case. It all began with a picture I took of the Marylin Monroe wax figure shown at the Sex Museum in Amsterdam. As the succesive versions acumulated, I slowly began to put some of them in a group.
What I am trying to represent here is one of the main concerns I have as an individual, as well as a member of the human species: the weakening quality of certain emotions and feelings. The fact that is represented by a woman is merely a circumstance and has nothing to do with gender issues. It speaks about me in the first place, actually. I can feel the debilitating power of these feelings in my body and spirit, just the same I witness they have the same effect on others.

today i went and picked up my photos that i sent to get developed, and got all bad news. i had 4 rolls of film, and only 4 photos from one roll survived. i got major light leaks, so they didn't bother to develope them i guess. i realised what i did wrong, so next time i'll have more to share.
*btw* this was my first time shooting with film.
