Developing Severe Thunderstorm during the 2010 Storm Season. Crivitz, WI.

One of my first prints in real black-and-white film.

I am absolutely enanamoured with the whole b/w film processing process. It's relaxing and exciting to have to wait to see what I've taken, even though I write everything down and have an idea of what it will look like.

To me it's a lot like when I was kid, waiting for letters from friends, rather than now when I get e-mail instantly.

I don't care who says what about digital vs. film, or whatever. I know that someday I will have a little closet in my house for doing this.

San Juan, PR- The teenager daughters and sons of the US Army Reserve-Puerto Rico had a great time during the Youth Leadership, Education & Development Summit, celebrated for the first time in Puerto Rico, at the CONRAD Hotel, 26-29 Jan.

On the second day of the conference, the youngsters had the opportunity to visit the San Juan Wildlife Museum where they were able to see different wild animals from around the world, displayed at their natural habitat.

In addition, the teenagers had the chance to dance to the rhythm of “Bomba y Plena”, a Puerto Rican native music.

At the end, the youngsters had a blast, while learning how to become better citizens, how to be socially engaged and become leaders in their communities.

The US Army Reserve’s Child, Youth Services Director for United States, Europe and the Pacific, Mrs. Beverly Arah was present during this event in Puerto Rico.

“The purpose of YLEAD is to pull together these young people, who live in different areas of the island, but who also share the fact of being dependents of a soldier. In this way, we facilitate the possibility for these kids to develop a support system with other teenagers, who are facing the same things,” said Arah.
