It's April and it is raining (expected) but the cold front came and back to below season to postpone spring weather for some more. Took a break to take a coupe of photos by the beach. I ha just enough time before it started pouring before the evening and it has not let up since :|

The remains of a lone camelthorn tree in Deadvlei, Namibia

In one of the islands of Svalbard, Norway

Death is nothing at all.

It does not count.

I have only slipped away into the next room.

Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.

I am I, and you are you,

and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.

Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.

Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.

Put no difference into your tone.

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.

Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.

It is the same as it ever was.

There is absolute and unbroken continuity.

What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you, for an interval,

somewhere very near,

just round the corner.

All is well.

Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.

One brief moment and all will be as it was before.

How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Take the time and Dim the Lights

I found it difficult to find a suitable title for this one. You likely have a different emotion when viewing the photo than I do. I would be interested in hearing what you would have called the photo or just your emotion, feeling, etc. Could you add it as a tag? Thanks:-)

Thank you all for taking the time to provide your comments. They are much appreciated!!

All is hushed except the fluttering and snapping and popping of the cloth undulating on the unseen force around our angel.

Peering down upon the masses and deciding if it is time to descend and ask "why do you keep calling me here with all this discontent of life and tossing aside friendships over trivial matters. You need each other in these times of restlessness. I don't wish to bring my kind of pain and desolation upon earth. Please think on what your doing to each other, so I might sit up here quietly and believe in humans once again."Then there is quiet again except for the fluttering and snapping and popping of the cloth and a angel sitting peering down.

The little red devil was bored out of her mind.

Some one had locked her up in an asylum.

How dare they, I mean she was so very sweet under that mean exterior.

On this dark and moonlit night, she longingly looked out the window.

Hoping against hope that some poor soul might wander by to entertain her.

When all of a sudden she spotted one, a fresh happy singing soul walking along the dark path of Desolation at Deadlands.

So up she jumped. With a menacing scowl and a spring in her step she leapt upon her victim.

It is here i leave you as it wasn't a pretty sight.

Magical Iceland.

The Trona Railway operates one of the most isolate and desolate piece of track in western United States. The scenery of the line along with a full roster of EMD product fresh from the 70s help to attract many people over these empty roads to the mining town.

Clearly showing the colours of their former owners even if they are badly burned by the merciless Death Valley sun, six SDs slowly pull an empty coal train out of Trona, ready to attack the 30 miles uphill ride toward the interchange point with Union Pacific in Searles, the railway's only connection with the outside world.
