Wisdom from previous masters. Bring a lens cover for your gear... I ran into a photographer that learned this lesson the hard way here. Fortunately my gear survived unscathed. Definitely go shoot. Don't try to eat your dinner... It's just going to turn out a bit crunchy and gritty.
Desolate, it really is one of the few single words that can be used to describe Rannoch Moor, one of the most incredible and wild parts of Scotland. This is the kind of location that makes Scotland the unique country that it is, from its very built up and densely populated central belt to the mountainous west highlands it is so diverse in so many ways. Nature really has packed an awful lot of interest into such a small country, no wonder we call it, "The Best Wee Country In The World."
A number of area in the northern area of the Death Valley were carpeted with beautiful yellow flowers.

The Valley Of Desolation is a section of Camdeboo National Park, a far away park of the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Here the erosion of the softer sedimentary beds has left dolerite pillars which rise to heights of 90-120 metres. I shot this picture during a thunderstorm, when the beautiful light enhanced all tones of green of this amazing and desolate landscape.
