The inital design for the Ultaran Customs Officer Corvette I built for SHIPtember 2013.

The build ended up quite different because I couldn't make this design work in brick like I wanted without giving too much of a manga-ish style which is not really my cup of tea nor in my comfort zone!

I think the brick built version ended up better than this (more reasonnable in terms of design)

What will probably be a design cleared for use. I decided to use travis bricks to integrate the technic components into the armor without showing exterior blemishes. I've never done this before, nor do I know anyone who has. No idea if it will work, but it holds up to me trying to "crush" it. Knees will need more work...

I've exhausted my supply of critical technic parts and can't go forward without cracklink orders, so this will probably be the last update for a few weeks.

The new stain glass windows were designed in 1962 by Lawrence Lee, one of three men responsible for the windows in the rebuilt Coventry Cathedral.

Inside the Scots Church in Adelaide. It was raining cats and dogs out side so went in for shelter. Glad I did as it was a very interesting building. The floor is on a slope so everyone gets a good view.. never seen a church built like that before in all of my travels!

August 29, 2013 Australia.

Scots Church Adelaide was originally called “Chalmers Free Church”, named after the Rev Dr James Chalmers who established the Free Church of Scotland. It was built by a group of prominent Adelaide citizens, early immigrants to South Australia, who supported the Free Church of Scotland movement. Determined to establish a Free Church in Adelaide, this group called the Rev John Gardner from Scotland. He arrived in Adelaide in March 1850 and immediately he and the group set about purchasing the land on the corner of North Terrace and Pulteney Street, and building a church there. The foundation stone for the new church was laid on the 8th of September 1850, six months after the Rev Gardner’s arrival.

The church building was officially opened for worship on July 6th 1851. The tower was added in 1858. In 1865 the three branches of Presbyterianism established in South Australia, the Free Church, the United Presbyterian Church, and the Church of Scotland, united to form one Presbyterian Church in South Australia. They became part of the Presbyterian Church of Australia at Federation in 1901. And so Chalmers Free Church became Chalmers Presbyterian Church.

This is not a Majid Abbasi design as I had previously stated. I wonder how my source got this confused? I don't think that it was me, well, maybe??? I thank nick the quick for correcting me on my mistake and adding so much information on this graphic.

I don't really know where the shoreline for Trillium Lake is at this location, but my guess is that the trees don't actually grow *in* the lake. :-) In any case this little Spruce is probably pretty close. These trees are absolutely designed to shed snow.

I had left my pack and some of my gear over a few yards to my left here. I took a round-about way to get over here in order not to mess up the snow for other compositions. A Stellar's Jay had been noisily chattering at me at the other spot and I could envision him tearing my pack apart looking for food. Or he could steal a glove, just to be mean. I guess the good news was that he had left by the time I got back over there. No harm done.

One of the nice things about yesterday is that the conditions were constantly changing. So every shot had something a little different going on.

I would like to quote Incahoots today, July 22, my eightieth birthday.

"Like the child that closes its eyes and imagines it can't be seen, design now seems willfully blinded to the anti-human consequences of consumer capitalism. We release rushing torrents of words, images and sounds that often say nothing at all, and at worst deceive and degrade our humanity. We also create electric works with the potential to explore new ways of knowing ourselves. Inkahoots believes our visual language is a site for the organization of social power. We can close our eyes and pretend the world isn't there, or we can imagine a better world."
