Back home, I tend to think of Phoenix as a large city at population 4 Million. But that's nothing compared with Shanghai at about 24 million. Even more interesting to me is that Shanghai packs those 24 million people into about 6,340 Sq Km while Phoenix packs it's 4 Million people into 42,920 Sq Km. Or so sayeth Wikipedia. Just a wee difference in density. Quick shot with my phone taken out my Shanghai 30th floor hotel window. (Didn't bring my camera this time - too much on-the-move time)
Another stay at home photo, this was a test for fill flash plus using neutral density filter. I wanted to see it I could blur the background and still get the fill flash effect. So, 3 stop ND filter, camera set f 2.0 and the auto flash figured out to be f 1.4.
Hope everyone is having a good, relaxing weekend. I know I am. Just finished my first real week of my new job. My brain is a little full, but it's good.

St. Helens was established as a river port on the Columbia River in the 1840s. In 1853, the Pacific Mail Steamship Company tried to make the city their only stop on the Columbia River.[7] Portland's merchants boycotted this effort, and the San Francisco steamship Peytona helped break the impasse.[7]
St. Helens was incorporated as a city in 1889.[8]
The Lewis and Clark Expedition passed through and camped in the area that is now St. Helens on the night of November 5, 1805 while on their way to the Pacific Ocean. While here the party encountered Native Americans and Clark observed "low rockey clifts".[9]

Kolari is a Finnish municipality located in Western Lapland, on the Swedish border , along the Tornionjoki and Muonionjoki , in the western part of the Lapland province . 4,012 people live in the municipality and its area is 2,617.74 km², of which 58.45 km² are water bodies. History
The name Kolari appears for the first time in 1587. At that time, Pekka Kolari, who moved to Lapland from Savo, was recorded as belonging to the village municipality of Ylitornio Pello.
Kolari was previously known for its mines. There was a limestone quarry and a cement factory at the mouth of Äkäsjoki , and an iron mine in Rautuvaara . Both of these were closed in the 1980s.
The old church of Kolarinsaari was completed in 1818. In the 20th century, Sieppijärvi church (1956), Kolar church (1965) and Pyhän Lauri's chapel (1999) were built.
Economy
After the closure of the mines, the municipality's main livelihood is tourism. Ylläs has an international level ski resort. Äkäslompolo is located on the north side of the fell, Ylläsjärvi on the south side.
There are still large iron ore deposits in the areas of Pajala and Kolar municipalities, which were seized by the Canadian mining company Northland Resources Inc. in 2005.
"According to the company's preliminary development plans, there will be three mines, two concentrators and two pelletizing plants in the Pajala-Kolari area. When one mine costs 75 million euros, a concentrator 200 million and a pelletizing plant also 200 million, the investments are at best around 1 billion euros. There would then be 1,500 jobs, and one mining job creates three to five other jobs."
Nordkalk considered reopening the limestone mine in the early 2010s. [15] In 2018, it was not open.
In 2015, there were 1,410 jobs in the municipality. Of them, 5.7% were in primary production (agriculture, forestry and fisheries), 81% in services and 9% in processing. The share of the unemployed in the workforce was 13.8%.
