Prato della Valle in Padua is one of the largest squares in Europe, covering an area of around 90,000 m². It is shaped like a giant ellipse with a central island park surrounded by a canal. Along the canal stand over 70 statues of famous figures from the worlds of art, science and politics. Today, the square is a lively meeting place and a landmark of the city of Padua.
è Lei una delle Perle del Ticino...; in Val Verzasca piu' ci vieni e piu' ci verresti. Ogni salita concede sempre gratificanti sguardi volti alla meraviglia.
in foto momenti di questa sera al calar del sole. il tardivo arrivo sulle alture e pur a sole ormai sotto l'orizzonte, non mi ha impedito comunque di godere di scenari di gran piacevolezza e meritevoli di condivisione;
all'orizzonte ben distinguibili sulla destra la piu nota della valle ossia il Poncione d'Alnasca e piu dietro la splendida Cima Bianca; in centro la Marcia con Monte Zucchero sullo sfondo; piu in basso è immortalato Bardughè, uno degli alpeggi piu' meritevoli di essere visitato e da dove ho cliccato e condiviso parecchio sui miei album.

Situato a Punta del Mesco a 313 m. sul livello del mare , tra corbezzoli, pini, boschi di leccio e cespugli di timo, che ci consentono di immergerci nei profumi e atmosfere collinari.
La collina del Mesco è riconosciuta come Sito di Interesse Comunitario dal 1995 . Da qui il mare è spettacolare
Immersi nella vegetazione i resti di una bellissima abside romanica, quello che rimane dell'antico edificio di culto, che i monaci Agostiniani fondarono probabilmente a metà del XIII sec. , sui resti di un precedente edificio, forse longobardo..
Il punto in cui sorge il complesso è strategicamente importante , domina un arco costiero dal quale sono visibili il promontorio di Portofino ( a ovest ) e tutto quello delle Cinque Terre ( a est ), fino a Portovenere e le sue isole.
L'eremo del Mesco i fu uno dei punti più importanti per l'avvistamento e la segnalazione di navi corsare saracene. I tentativi di invasione di queste ultime erano così frequenti nel XVI sec. che i monaci da soli non erano sufficienti , e per questo venivano mandati alcuni uomini dai borghi costieri per aiutarli: accendevano fuochi notturni e facevano segnali di fumo di giorno per avvertire la popolazione di eventuali pericoli. Di lassù riuscivano infatti a vedere per primi la comparsa di navi all'orizzonte e lanciare l'allarme. Nel XIV sec. venne costruito un convento, ma nel corso del 1600 i monaci decisero di trasferirsi nella vicina Levanto e l'edificio iniziò un irreversibile declino

Watson Lake is one of two reservoirs at the Granite Dells, in Prescott, Arizona, that was formed in the early 1900s when the Chino Valley Irrigation District built a dam on Granite Creek. The City of Prescott bought the reservoir and surrounding land in 1997 to preserve it as recreational land. The glow is from the city of Prescott.

Taken this evening at Dell Quay Marina near Chichester. I took 25 pictures over an hour and a half standing in cold water just to get this one good one. So don't worry when the pro on his vlog tells you he always does it in one. Maybe he does maybe he doesn't. Most of us don't.

I used an ND 4 grad filter as the sky was so bright with the sun starting to dip down to the right.
I also used an ND10 to get the effect on the water but also to try and get as much colour in the frame as I could as the sun was starting to go behind a massive bank of cloud just out shot.

The church is a Co-cathedral to the Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi of the Italo-Albanian Catholic Church, a diocese which includes the Italo-Albanian (Arbëreshë) communities in Sicily who officiate the liturgy according to the Byzantine Rite in the Koine Greek language and Albanian language. The Church bears witness to the Eastern religious and artistic culture still present in Italy today, further enhanced by the Albanian exiles who took refuge in southern Italy and Sicily from the 15th century under the pressure of Turkish-Ottoman persecutions in Albania and the Balkans. The latter influence has left considerable traces in the painting of icons, in the religious rite, in the language of the parish, in the traditional customs of some Albanian colonies in the province of Palermo. The community is part of the Catholic Church, but follows the ritual and spiritual traditions that largely share it with the Eastern Orthodox Church.
The church is characterized by a multiplicity of styles that meet, since, through the succession of centuries, it was enriched by various tastes in art, architecture and culture. Today, it stands as a church-historical monument, and subject to protection.
The Forehall is decorated with later frescoes of comparatively little artistic significance. The frescoes in the middle part of the walls are from the 18th century, attributed to the flemish painter Guglielmo Borremans.
Since 3 July 2015 it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale.

Chiesa della Consolazione , ( Padri Agostiniani ), detta anche Chiesa di S. Rita perché i Genovesi vengono qui a pregare presso l' altare di S. Rita , la Santa delle situazioni impossibili. Il giorno di S Rita, il 22 maggio, si distribuiscono rose benedette. Questa Madonnina è posta accanto all' 'altare di S Rita.

Church of Solace , ( Genova). called Church of Saint Rita , the Saint of impossible cases, because people from Genoa come here to pray this Saint. On the 22nd of May they distribuite blessed roses . This little statue is next to the Altar of S. Rita da Cascia.

...dal suo tour in garfagnana il 1 maggio 2016. Il convoglio a trazione mista diesel-vapore ha percorso i binari della Garfagnana. La 685.089 ha lasciato il convoglio a Lucca per fare ritorno al deposito di Pistoia.
