2 1/2 hours on the apron! At least we could get up and use the toilet. But no information, except that being SMS'd to mobile phones. There even had to be a crew change in the cockpit, but we were not told until after.

Shortly after 2 pm on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, members of the Grimsby Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on the QEW Toronto-bound at Bartlett Avenue. A white SUV appeared to have suffered an engine fire (unknown cause) while attempting to enter the QEW on-ramp at Bartlett. The driver pulled over onto the right shoulder where the vehicle quickly became fully-involved; they were able to safely exit the vehicle uninjured. Black smoke was visible from both Beamsville and Grimsby prior to crews arriving scene. The driver of a heavy wrecker hauling a transport truck had pulled over, along with other motorists, attempting to extinguish the flames with an extinguisher. The bystander’s valiant efforts were unfortunately no match for the growing fire. Once GFD arrived, the fire was rapidly extinguished and the incident was brought under control. The vehicle fire, due to its proximity to the highway, caused significant delays while passing motorists slowed down to check out the scene heading both directions on the QEW.

in another one of Rochester's abundance of indie coffee shops
I've never been to a baseball game where the players all just walk off the field.. in the middle of an inning, with no announcement as to why. It took us a while to figure it out... a bank of lights went out in right field. Took about half an hour to get them back on. Seriosuly, it didnt make a difference.
