The Galapagos sea lion is essentially a coastal animal and is rarely found more than 16 kilometres out to sea. Individuals are active during the day and hunt in relatively shallow waters (up to about 200 metres deep) where they feed on fish, octopus, and crustaceans. Sea lions and seals are also capable of making extraordinarily deep dives of up to 200 metres for 20 minutes or more, then rapidly surfacing with no ill effects. When ashore, the Galapagos sea lions rest on sandy beaches and rocky areas in colonies of about 30 individuals. They are extremely gregarious and pack together on the shore even when space is available.

This word
Is quite interesting
When you see an image like this
All you think of is the mirror effect it has on the water
"Reflection is a throw back of heat, light, or sound without absorbing it."
But when we reflect, we think deeply about the matter
So the word Reflection has two quite opposite meanings
Maybe that is why we like images with reflections so well
We don't need to deepdive into it because its not needed to be absorbed, we can just enjoy
Enjoy is super duper important
Either you are on your own
Or you are with someone
I find taking photos like we do, sometimes a bit destroying for the moments
I did tend to rush off to find more interesting places , other colors and other things to take photos of
I really must have focus on my moments of pure joy
Luckily I'm aware of it now, so I'm getting better at it
Beause I do enjoy my moments immensely
Just sitting in the glory and take it all in, it's an amazing feeling
When I'm in that special mood I also miss my lover and my best friend, so it's kind of a bittersweet experience not to share
Sometimes, well pretty often, it hurts like He........
But that comes with having feelings, and I for one is happy to have loads of them
Amen to that
I think, lol
Here is Yiruma for you, if you like piano:

And here is a video for you who wants to touch your feelings, as well as mine:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsVt6-PgdNc&feature=youtu.be
Btw, this shot is taken from a rather long distance, you'll see the size of the sheep if you look to the left of the house
I'm not always good in composing and cropping, so I was wondering if I should have cropped it a bit more, with less water
If you have any views on that I appreciate what you have to say
Deep diving into the small joys
Breathing it all in
I never get tired of this
There is so many things to cherish in life
Just look at the small things in your surroundings
There is so much beauty
Yes, there is stuff to deal with too
It always is
But we need to gather ourselves in the good things
Breathe that in
And you will survive
Find out what is most important in your life and breathe that in
For me it is
My love for my love
My love for my loved ones
My love for my moments
I really should do a PhD in "DeepDiving"
It would probably conclude in the word
Love
Deepdiving into a macoshot was suitable today, it was all glittering around me and the sight is actually quite magic
So this is todays diamonds

A fun afternoon of sailing and whale watching off Avila Beach. There were a few pods of whales and one actually came up under the sailboat with a big “bang”! I thought for a moment that we had hit a rock!

Hanging off our boat's line for a few minutes decompression while ascending from a deep dive on the wreck of the Hakkai Maru in Simpson Harbour, Rabaul, Papua New Guinea.
Rephotographed from an original Kodachrome transparency taken with a Nikonos II, UW-NIKKOR 15mm f2.8 lens and Seatite strobe.
The wreck was buried by ash during the 1994 eruptions of Tavurvur and Vulcan volcanoes.
Before I deepdive into faded 80ties tennis courts (actually, have to still do the postprocessing part...), I wanted to publish this beauty from my neighborhood.

The Prosper Schiaffino or Donator wreck, Mediterranean Sea, France. 🐠 🌊 🇫🇷 🌏 👉 linktr.ee/vincent_pommeyrol

🇬🇧 The Donator, or Prosper Schiaffino, is a freighter sunk by a mine in 1945 and located between the islands of Port-Cros and Porquerolles. It is one of the most beautiful wrecks in the Mediterranean.
Donator was built in 1931 in Norway. It measured 78 m of length for 12 m of wide, for a speed de14 in 15 knots for a power of 1800 cv. Its resold in 1933 to the General Maritime Company of Armaments which renames it Small Earth and allocates it to the transport of bananas between the Metropolis and the Antilles. In 1939 it becomes the property of an Algerian Company of Navigation, the Company Schiaffino. This one was in the habit of baptizing the ships with the first names of members of the family, and Donator becomes then the Prosper Schiaffino. This company, which had twenty buildings in 1939, lost 19 during the Second World War: 13 by torpedoes, mines, and 6 by bombing while they were at anchor.
He was converted into a pinardier. Used for the transport of troops and equipment during the war, it found the transport of wine at the liberation. On November 10, 1945, the Prosper Schiaffino sailed for Spain with 29 sailors on board, to protect itself from the mistral, it skirted the coast. In sight of Porquerolles, it passes to the south of the island, too close, and encounters a field of residual mines. An explosion occurs forward at 1:15 p.m. The bow almost detaches from the ship. In 4 minutes, it sinks from the front, the rear almost vertically. Two victims will be counted. He rests on a sandy bottom at 48 meters, the bridge goes up to 44 meters.

Embracing you while you are burying your face in her
You entering into another world
A world of comfort and safety
A mom's love, like it should be
A world of love
A world of peace
And definitely
A world of passion
I think I needed this embrace today
Feeling all blessed with the love Im receiving
I am in need to pass it on
Hugs to you all, filled with love and good thoughts from me with this pink image in your mind
Let the hug be in your spine, breathe it in, embrace it
Your day will continue and it will feel a tiny bit different, won't it

Here you have one of the first photos I took with my new underwater photography equipment at the end of May. A hobby that I am passionate about and that I hope to practice for a long time.
I consider photography a complicated art to master and even more so when it comes to underwater photography. I've only been doing this for a short time and I'm clear that understanding the equipment will take time, especially the flashes and lighting. Correct lighting is critical in this type of photography and that is what I want to dominate. Little by little and with patience I hope to be able to photograph dreamlike moments and scenes.
In this photograph taken at Cabo Tres Forcas we can see a specimen of Dendrophyllia ramea at the end of a rocky wall dominated by a deep community of Astroides calycularis, at a depth of 40 meters. In the upper part of this rock, A. calycularis coexists with the white gorgonian (Eunicella singularis) creating an exceptional habitat. Photography that I will probably upload one of these days.
This photo was taken a few days before the campaign in the Chafarinas Islands that I told you about in the previous post and which I will also talk about in future posts.

This school of anemone fish was living on a Haddon’s Sea Anemone. Usually this arrangement with Haddon’s makes the fish lighter in color. A conical shell was right next to their anemone. The anemone fish attached all their eggs to it. If you zoom in on this photo (flic.kr/p/29F64B9) you can see algae growing on the eggs. The parents (breeding pair) were cleaning the eggs constantly with their mouths.

I had a lot of fun with this soft coral fish. I was toward the back end of my only dive for that day, and noted a very small movemetn in the fronds of this flower pot coral. Through patience and persistence I was able to use my 105mm with my 2.0 teleconverter to get some nice close shots. This fish was in Brownian motion (ceaseless random motion) across the soft coral. I don't think you could use a super macro converter or a magnifier to get these shots since the subject is very dynamic...

"Every time I slip into the ocean, it's like going home." (Sylvia Earle)
I fell in love with the ocean when I was a young girl, dreaming of all the things I could discover. Like so many people of my generation, I watched Sea Hunt, starring the actor Llyod Bridges, which ran from 1958-1961. One summer, my neighbor had a cousin come to visit, who was from Hawaii. We became "fast friends" and after hearing all about island life and the ocean, I decided that someday I would go to Hawaii.
Years later, when my husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary, we visited Hawaii (often referred to as the Big Island), Kauai, and Maui. We learned to snorkel on that trip, but we wanted to get closer to what we were seeing from the surface.
We kept returning to Hawaii, eventually living there for over half of the year for many years, making lasting friendships, treated as "Kama' Aina" (locals). We did hikes all over the island and learned to scuba dive, committing to certifications the whole way to becoming Rescue Divers. We spent over 900 hours of "bottom time," shore diving exclusively on the Big Island, most of it in Honaunau Bay (called Two Step by locals). We usually did three dives a day and got to know the reef and its creatures intimately.
Hawaii and the ocean are part of our hearts, minds, and souls; if we could, we would love to live under the sea.
Alas, despite all the warnings about climate change, our oceans and the planet itself is imperiled. Reports are widespread about coral bleaching. It breaks our hearts to see what is happening...everything is at the tipping point now.
*A dear friend, Barry Fackler, whom we used to dive with (along with his wife, Betty), took the photos of coral bleaching in Honaunau Bay, four years after we did our last dives there. We wept when we saw them. *See his photos below.
