The fern helps dress up the spaces around the side of the deck.
We're looking west, toward the hot tub and garden.
Only 8 years old, this deck suffered in the rain exposure here in Leilani. Notice the small rectangular piece center left. This is covering a spot where I actually broke through the rotted board as I was standing there. The new tile pieces are sitting on top for sizing up the design.

The Christmas lights on the deck were covered with snow, lending a much more surreal appearnce to things.

This was built to have a garden office installed.
We wanted it to fit into the area by the steps so had to curve the edge around the wall.
Brackets fitted to eliminate any twist with brickwork under to firm up
support. Wall brackets holding firm at house end but need to make up a
trap door for access to the grate.
Deck finally placed on hull for a test fit. I can't wait for the FINE day when I get to remove those &^^%$#! copper stitches! You can see how small my work area is, and those stitches are "everywhere".
