Beach huts line the promenade between Walton and Frinton, a walk we do often when in Walton.

A lovely, long holiday courtesy of the Easter and Royal Wedding / Early May Bank Holiday weekends, plus 3 days off work. One of our best holidays at the Gyford caravan, Walton on the Naze.
Blue skies almost every day, and very breezy as we headed towards the Royal Wedding.
Lots of reading, a stroll along the beach to Frinton for a fry up and second hand books, a walk along the Backwaters and the Naze to visit the new coastal defence works and the excellent Naze Tower cafe, and a lot of time at the beach hut. All lovely.

The deck (with 2 tables on it) at my parents's house. My mom sent my brother, my sister, and me this photo, with the message, "For you who are out of the DC area, this is what you are missing. We got 20" of snow between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am. Wanna come over and help out? There will be hot chocolate and popcorn!"
Crazy.

The original concrete patio lacked pizzazz and the home owners rarely sat outside and used it. They wanted a deck in the backyard that would add character and felt that they would entertain more if they had a designated area to do so. They were happy with the final product and actually hung Christmas lights on the deck over the winter. (They don't even hang lights on the front of the house!)
Add 16 cubic feet of storage space to your deck along with some comfortable seating with this Rubbermaid deck storage box.

One of my favorite things is how the landscaping around the deck adds privacy. You can't see the neighbors and they can't see you. It's great!
pe deck, oiled, Unoiled ipe ready for steel planters housing a row of lavender just outside the railings.
Oh, such fond memories of taking in waifs and strays, and hijacking the Acrostic Night down the Horn Redbourne.
