It's going to look exactly like that for a while. I thought that perhaps I would install the cover built for the deck out of the other GMC, but a red panel w/ a brown dash would be an eyesore, IMO. So, I went this route..

Pilots and crew chiefs assigned to 225 “KnightHawk” Company 25th Infantry Division, conduct day and night-time deck landing qualifications. To maintain proficiency, the crews must complete a total of 10 landings, five day and five night-vision landings on a ship deck every month. The qualifications are necessary to ensure perishable skills is not lost and aviation crewmembers are able to support maritime missions. (U.S. Army photo by MSG Lekendrick Stallworth)

The concrete deck in now poured and cured. A second pour was made which included sidewalk and the railing on the non-sidewalk side of the bridge (side nearest in this view). One final pour remains for the railing on the sidewalk side of the bridge. Once the bridge deck pours are completed the remaining upper portions of the wingwalls will be cast.

It may be a little concerning to see that big track crane out on the middle of the new bridge deck. But, the contractor used some scrap pieces of plywood to prevent the tracks from damaging the deck surface.

Finsished the second half of the fence at the deck. Looks really nice. Had good help from Jake on staining the boards. Looks WAY better. Next is the deck itself!

While working our behinds off - we failed to notice the giant thunderstorm rolling in. Sky darkended and the temperature dropped as the last nail went in. Then we had to scamble to put stuff away so we could go get something to eat! A nice day overall in Bonner Springs - but Leavenworth got whacked with wind and rain and power outages.

I used to work at a boat builder. Nice people, but horrifically incompetent management. Here Travis lowers a fiberglass deck being fitted onto a deck.

Bunny with something on it's ear, tick maybe?

My sister Joy on our deck. She's doing mission work in Tanzania. Last week, she wrote that she killed two poisonous snakes in her home. One got its skull bashed in with a Nalgene bottle, and she decapitated the other with scissors while it was sleeping in her little girl's hamper.
