This photo was taken from the top of the tree back towards the stump. The perspective makes it look the other way around.

This is next to a bridge across the Little Arkansas River in Rice County. As you can see it is the support for a bridge that used to be there. The dead tree made it intreresting! I just wonder how long that concretepillar has been there.

A dead tree between Piccotts End and Hemel Hempstead

We came upon this tree while we were ambling around the lake at Chilham. it seemed to have been overtaken by the water and died, but it left some nice reflections.

People must LIKE this tree as much as I do! Otherwise, why is it still standing?

In Duluth, people are fond of upending driftwood trees, roots upward, on the beach. I think of them as lake totems.

Found this decomposing log on a hike, it was covered with those long 'pedes.
