I am still behind with posting - and keep getting comments saying how I've hit the weekly water theme. However, I'm still posting in the previous week, so any theme-hitting was purely coincidental! Believe it or not I tried to hit the 'recreate a photo' theme with this. Now, the original is in the comments, so you are going to pretty much notice straight away that this a total failure. The photo from Slackpacket has a big barn in it. My shot has no barn in it. That's a pretty big difference. But I think what I was trying to get was one of his big Oregon skies, with a sense of the grandness of the landscape. In fact, this was a bit of scrub near Sunderland right next to the huge Nissan car factory. Anywhere out of this frame and there'd be buildings, car lots and wind turbines. So, lets just say a loose theme interpretation!

I'm just writing this after losing my temper. As I've got older, my musical tastes have got older. Back in the day I used to be cool. Well, not cool, but I listened to some cool stuff. Radiohead, Leftfield, Massive Attack, The Manics and the like. But once it got to 2001 my tastes froze. Nothing that was new, it seemed to me, was as good as the stuff I liked during my golden age. By golden age, I mean when I wasn't old and fat. But this didn't stop me listening to different music, its just my tastes got older as I did. I went through an 80's electronic music phase, then back further into 60's folk. And now, I'm into monks. Chanting monks. Taizé chants, Gregorian chants, that sort of thing. I'm so rock and roll. I've got a Gregorian chant cd which I like to play while driving as it chills me out. But for some reason its got some birds on it. There's these tweeting, chirping birds twittering away on every track and while I could live with it at first, they're driving me mad.

So, I just took delivery of a new Taizé album, which promised me over an hour of peace, tranquility, reflection and serenity. Just what I was after. I got in the car and put it on. But when I stopped driving, I realised I could hear more birds in the background to the music. What is it with birds! I shouted at the cd player and cursed all avian kind. I swore at all things that flapped. I visualised running amok doing battle with all feathered life-forms.The cd was ejected, put it back in the box, thrown over my shoulder into the back and I grumpily got out. Where I heard birds. Real ones, signing, chirping and twittering, just as they're supposed to. Big Bird, Daffy Duck, Chicken Little et al, I owe you all an apology.

It has been raining a lot lately. Today is a bit sunny. Let's hope it stays that way. Fingers Crossed. Have a great day everyone!

my neighbour's yard at Plevna Ontario is adjacent to a body of water with a small set of rapids. steam was rising up off the water when I first woke up and so I grabbed my camera to head out and grab a shot. their four wheeler just seemed to add to the photograph somehow.

Our Western Bluebird pair are working hard at building a successful hatch this year!

So actually, this happened by accident.

I was going to shot my yesterday's photo, when a little spider web entangled in my hand with this star, which I have thousands in my room.

So I though it was nice so I just took a picture of it, all because of I dont know.

Barbie's having a bad week!

I wanted to do a headless Barbie but the heads no longer come off with ease (and I didn't want to kill her permanently) so I had to edit her dead.

Textures by me :)

Tonight i went with my family to an old castle with a vaulted cellar reastaurant nearby our weekend house.

One of the last attractions was a fire spitter - and that was quite amazing.

Captured with my Fuji X100's. Stupidly it's not sooc, cause of a small crop =)

we still haven't established who's who in that "calm-submissive" relationship...*sigh* I think this echoes resoundingly in my personal relationships as well....

FGR invades Adorakable. It doesn't get much more dorky than this.

Han decides he really does need to get out of this particular area as the fight begins! Good job those Stormtroopers are distracted by trying to work out which universe they are in!!

Day124 Year3 of Project365

Standing against the mainstream :)

I can't find the recipe which worked for me. So, these are failed (a little bit) macaroons. -A little bit -failed, because they are really tasty! :)

124/365 2015

Drive by this mural on the side of an apartment house all the time. Today was the day to give it a shot.

I was inspired by Robert Tunstall's Bubble World.

Suds held in detergent dispenser cup. Shot with Nikkor 60mm macro, 68mm, extension tubes. I had to constantly readjust the focus because the bubble kept popping of course.

Processed in Photoshop.

Strobist

- SB-600, 24mm, 1/4 power, camera right, bounced off foamcore into surface of bubble

This picture is about 2 years old so technically it might not count..but my 365, my rules, right? :D However, I did edit this today so I think it counts :)

Anyway, since I have this mini pirate theme going for the week (seriously excited for POTC), I figured this would be fun to include. Of course it was taken at the happiest place on earth :D

Jack Sparrow: Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

Here I went with a two flash system mounted on a couple light stands. I've got one sitting sort of in front of my model here and the other to the side. He's wearing a Tommy Hilfiger top and pants by Rude.

Taken with the a200 and the Minolta 70-210mm, aka Beercan, telephoto lens.

Standing astride the Greenwich meridian at the Royal Observatory, the line that marks zero degrees of longitude. My right foot is in the Eastern Hemisphere, and my left in the Western; possibly a first for the 365 Days project :-)
