Day 124 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

I was photographing some flowers outside yesterday morning, (in the rain-got soaked) and heard several flocks of geese flying overhead. I quickly snapped this shot, but I missed that gorgeous 'V' formation by a split second.

I'm not sure why these geese are so late in coming home, since I saw many flocks weeks ago, and was sure their migration was finished.

eta: I heard a bunch more honking last night in the middle of the night, very weird!

I was trying to take a picture of some frozen mixed veggies on a clear glass plate while sitting on the grass this morning when this little critter slipped himself into the scene. I abandoned the frozen veggies and worked to get a focused image of this slithering fellow. Most of my photos don't involve moving subjects so I applaud anyone who shoots and gets sharp focus when shooting moving objects.

Haha actually not taken in natural light but I liked the quote too much.

we are missing the pole dancer!

Today was pretty much a waste of my time. I love wasting time on things that don't benefit me so that I can't do what I really need to get done!

Tonight I did some house cleaning on my Flickr account. I had everybody set as a friend in my contact list but the truth is that some of them are anything but my friend so I felt it was time to take care of that. I tried to organize people into friends, contacts or deletes. I have a feeling that I goofed up on a bunch of them. So, if you have me marked as a friend on your list I put you on my list as a friend. If you have as a contact I put you as a contact. If you have nothing interesting to contribute to my world I deleted you. As I said before I'm sure I screwed up on some of them so if I deleted you accidentally and/or I moved you into a category you feel is not what you deserve just message me and let me know.

And in continuing with my theme the past couple of pictures . . . Family Guy rules! If you hadn't noticed I pretty much only watch cartoons. Most other shows are just stupid "reality" shows that annoy me to no end so I stick with the toons! :-D

Yesterday we stopped at this little restaurant by my work for our daily pic. It has these fun old color walls and plants! The sun was going down and right on her face. So, she wouldn't look at me. I have either this or with her batman glasses on (yes, not princess or hello kitty, batman :)

The longer days were getting to me at this point; I used the Fish Eye to force some inspiration . . .

This is for real, no photoshopping, as I don't have the skills nor the time to create such an image. These goats are actually in the argan tree. I had seen pictures in the past, but to see it in person was a real treat.

My apologies for the lack of commenting, the internet is very slow and takes for ever to either load a picture of view yours. I'm back this weekend, and will definitely catch up.

Two more in the comments.

History

Mela Chiraghan or Mela Shalamar ("Festival of Lights") is a three day annual festival to mark the urs (death anniversary) of the Punjabi Sufi poet and saint Shah Hussain. It takes place at the shrine of Shah Hussain in Baghbanpura, on the outskirts of Lahore, Pakistan, adjacent to the Shalimar Gardens. The festival used to take place in the Shalimar Gardens also, until President Ayub Khan ordered against it in 1958. The festival used to be the largest festival in the Punjab, but now comes second to Basant.

This is a first spring male. Since he is not in his full adult plumage, he looks a little scruffy. Indigo Buntings are found in most of the mid-west and eastern United States. They are just passing through West Texas heading north.

Day 124 of the 366 challenge 2016

It's back to the tube today. I was expecting different tunnels from other photos I had seen but this was all I could see and I walked around the whole station - weird! I am fast running out of photographic tunnels and passageways in the tube so this series may not last that much longer. It is nice to have the shot of the day in the bag by 07:30!

I am please to say that I managed to figure out who the food photographer was I was looking for. Thanks Stephanie, you correctly suggested that it was SarahLaBu!

EXPLORED you guys are amazing. :)

how it would feel without breasts? a normal woman would go through so much psychological trauma losing her breasts. it is seriously not just a physically devastating situation, it is deeply emotionally devastating. That's why breast cancer survivors are so amazing. that's why ANY cancer survivor is super duper amazing! they are strong and wonderful people, they went through sooooo much and they are soooo strong and most of them just dont sit around and try and live their lives like they use to, NO! they go out and TALK to people about it! they care about other people enough to ensure that other people KNOW the dangers and suffering so that other people can go and try and PREVENT/MINIMIZE the advancement of certain cancers without it being too late.

This month is not just about breast cancer, please remember that breast cancer and other cancers should be talked about and discussed everyday, not just in the month of October.

breast cancer fact of the day: Breast Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in US women, the first is lung cancer.

I've been meaning to get a nice picture of the spring beech tree avenues around here and lacking any better ideas for today here it is. Since it is a bank holiday today the rain is coming down really well.
