This was not actually the shot I planned for today at all.. that portrait is coming.. It was two dark and turned out that it would have been easier with a two flash set-up... I was tagged in Laine Up's photo. So here is 10 facts about me

1. I LOVE friends, if I could spend the rest of my life watching it, I would die a very happy man. My friends boxset is probably the best gift anyone has ever given me.. thanks Collyne

2. Over the years, I've made a lot of friends but I've also lost a lot more, I really regret that

3. I don't actually know what I want to do in the future after I graduate, I'm currently leaning towards being a Maths Teacher

4. I love Math, it has, is and always will be my favourite subject

5. Im a very opinionated individual although I'll never push my opinion on anyone, I'm off the opinion that its wrong to do that (see?!)

6. I'm falling deeper and deeper in love with photography

7. My music taste is so strange, I grew up on Hip-hop and rap but I've been heavily influenced and now I like Indie, alternative and anything interesting

8. I'm in love with this song

9. I dunno if its being a Catholic but I love anything supernatural and is roughly related to angels and demons which is why I love Supernatural and Vampire Diaries

10. Apparently I have really good neck fat! "its really soft and its a sensory treat" LOOL

After walking the dogs with my dad we saw this spot on the way back that had caught my eye the day before. So we pulled over to the spot and I walked about 10 meters when my dad asked me if that was a dumped fridge. As I had a closer look I saw that it was the back end of an old car and I asked my dad what it was. After a quick look at the one remaining rear light it turns out it was an old ford escort which had just been dumped. Amazing what you can find when you take time to look.

i asolutely love razorbrown's photography. all of it but especially her cars. check out her stream and i'm sure you'll know what i'm talking about.

so this was done trying to copy razorbrown's style for two group themes this week: copycat (18/52) and recreate a favorite image.

I had to get out of the house today and do something productive before I went stir crazy. Not that I haven't had an enjoyable weekend so far, but I wanted to reach out and touch the real world as well as the virtual one today.

So I went shopping

Above you can see some of my 36 prints from a recent weekend of fun. SO exciting to have actual prints in your hand, I think they will be the first to go in my album I bought a year ago (because it went with my bedroom). Also pictured, my *beautiful* new pumps, a bargain at only £10. FINALLY I got myself an address book which fulfilled all my requirements, and even a notebook to go with it - the holy grail has been achieved! And a little set of angel wings which went with my pumps (view large to see!)

All in all a good day, now I just need somebody to come along to share my excitement with!

May 4th 2011

My grandmother got a new couch this week for her basement, she also moved a couch from her basement upstairs, this meant she had no room for her old couch, chair and loveseat so I decided to steal her chair. I've been wanting to do a shoot with a chair outside, so here I had a chair handed to me. How could I pass up the opportunity.

I have this love for crazy old furniture. Maybe I'm just a little nostalgic; however, there is a beauty in things that are old. A beauty that something new just cannot capture. A sentiment that escapes re-creation.

Have a beautiful weekend.

So, I promised Kenzie that I'd post a picture of the berries, and here they are!

Now to explain the difference (as best I can): The larger ones are Blackberries, and they grow on a vine! The smaller more clustered ones are Mulberries...and I think they only grow on trees. They grow at the same time during each year, and are both very delicious.

My Mom favors the mulberries much more than she does the blackberries (though I think that has alot to do with the fact that one of her fondest childhood memories is picking them during Springtime, and savoring their delicious-ness)! I tried them both, and I do have to say that the Mulberry is a bit more flavorful, and more naturally sweet!

But what can be better than fresh, homegrown berries?!! Anyway...enough about my Mommy & her beloved berries, lol!

Grandma is 96 years old and is doing great for her age. Her hearing is going, and she is less steady on her feet than she used to be, but give her a cane and talk really loud and it is like hanging out with a much younger person.

I think I inerited my goofiness from her...

(Not really.)

(But I do believe in flossing.)

(It's very important.)

(It's been kind of a weird goofy day. Not bad, just kind of like... DUDE. REALLY?)

(But there was a bit with a Stone Roses song.)

(That was nice. It made me smile.)

(Speaking of The Stone Roses, this reminds me... back when I was, oh... 17? I went on, um, I don't know. A date, I guess. I'd been talking to this guy and he said we should go do something and it was Friday so I guess that's kind of a date or something, but then while I was talking to him on the phone and we were making plans, my friend showed up and then I was all "So I'm going to go meet this guy" and then somehow she came along? And it was weird? And not very much like a date at all. But he and I did have a conversation about The Stone Roses and he said that their eponymous first album was like the Sgt. Pepper of our generation, and I'd been listening to The Beatles a lot that summer and I think I said something really smart like "Oh." And then we had coffee and there was sugar spilled on the table and we drew circles in it with our fingertips and I never saw him again.)

(Random.)

(I'm going to quit writing this caption in parentheses now.)

In fact, I'm going to quit writing this caption now, full stop.

Day124 of 365 travel memories is from Kuala Lumpur City Center park

Captured in my early morning walk.

A last self portrait before I get my new glasses!

I won't deny it - I spent most of today curled up in front of the TV because I had a tummy ache all day :( the kind that means it hurts to eat anything remotely tasty :(... you don't understand how important food is to me!!! And this is why I hate todays photo.

Moving on to the next one so I never have to look at this again...

Yes, it's official now, my portfolio is finished ... after long, hard work over the weekend it's finally there - yay! I think I'm going to change/add few things but for now it's good :) I want to apply for a position of Web Artworker at my company so I had to do my portfolio asap.

Hope you will like it :)

Have fun ;)

Had a job interview today, not sure how it went but I didn't walk away with the best feeling about it. Sometimes I wish I just had it in me to work for myself. Anyhow, when I used to work in the corporate world I developed quite a collection of ties and while I don't wear them much anymore I kind of miss actually caring what I looked like...sometimes.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! As a St Paddy's treat, I went with my mom to Brigid's Cross (an Irish pub) for food, festivities etc. My mom really gets a kick out of going there. This was also my first St Patrick's Day where I was legal, so I got to try out some Irish beers which is nice, since I'll be going to Ireland this May as a family trip/early graduation gift.

Day 124 2017 365 (C)

There are a number of populations of the stunning Early Spider Orchid throughout Kent, each one has its own characteristics with these "Downland" variety seeming to be a lot more red and dusty in comparison....

I'm not much of an artist, but I got bored. And I think if I ever got a tattoo I would most definitely consider that cursive album. It's fucking great and it's totally in my top 5 favorite albums of all time.

Day 124

For today's 365, Flickr Group Roulette, and Silly Saturdays.

I was trying to do a jumping shot for today's 365, of me jumping on to the bed, and my husband kept throwing our daughter's stuffed Garfields into my shot, just as the timer went off.

be with you. haha, i dont even like star wars and i like that line!

today was my flag race. and it went alright actually.

only had to guess a few names but the rest i had down.

so if i fail this one mayneee, ima be pissed.

anyway, i finished my lab early so i went on down to latrobe to see my lovely ladies.

when i was leaving my uni i walked into meena! so random, but so so good. we trammed it to latrobe together.

i was sooo hungry and hadnt eaten breakfast and was living on a budget after that stupid $100 so fatima shayda meena and i just went and got subway.

it was amazing. probably cos i was hungry. but it didn't over-fill me or under-fill! juuuust perfecto.

anyway so fatima had to go back to class. it was the first time i had seen her since reaching adulthood can u believe it! and shayda had to finish an essay so we went to the library.

(im skipping major details but ceebs)

so it ended up being shayda meena nadene, fatima , mohamad and i in the silent study level of the library talking like crazy cows!!

it was also the first time seeing these peeps since hols so there was major catching up needing to be done.

we got told off for being to loud by the sweet librarian. our cue to leave.

so once shayda was done with her essay, everyone ended up scattering till it was just meena and shayda and i.

we went and got hot chocolates together.

it was sweet.

this is where this photo was taken.

"PRLR (prounounced 'Parlor'). Kensington's first cocktail bar. We're really surprised that nobody has done a bar like this in this neighbourhood yet. Our concept is: tattoos, arts, and cocktails. PRLR is owned by Stu, just upstairs at the Oak Tree. We're really stoked to have our grand opening in a few days.

The art pieces on the wall are from local artists. We'll be swapping them through as long as they fit with the style and feel of the space. So often you to a nice upscale restaurant and you'll see something really nice on the walls, only to discover that it was from big box retail or something.

I've been living here for five years and I have zero desire to leave this neighbourhood." Alex, Head Bartender at PRLR, general cocktail guy.

The brakes on my work bike have been slowly getting worse, but I've not really noticed, like you do when it happens of a long time. There's been a few moments when they could've been better though so I figured it was time for some new pads. As you can see, a grimey job which I've been putting off. Turned out pretty painless an I was done in an hour. Most of that time was spent faffing trying to take a picture.

May I take this opportunity to point out that you might see lot's of pics of my bike and bike related things but that's because I spend at least 12 hours a week on it. May I also take this opportunity to point out that that's 160 mile a week riding to work and back. Those who know me will be aware of this and how chuffed I am with myself, and are most likely fed up of me mentioning it :-) but if you are considering doing the same, or just having a go once a week, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's by far the best way to start the day and I wouldn't go back to commuting in a car, no way.

Screw it. I give up today.

One of our first 'dates' involved a trip to Hamleys. This particular visit has somewhat shaped our relationship, as it resulted in the purchase of 'Mr Fox'.

Oooh, and I have a day off tomorrow, yay!

E x

Had one Thursday morning class and went fairly well. Just two more weeks until this semester is over. Just went over some extra credit, new things and class was pretty much over. After class headed outside and out of no where it starts to rain which I really dislike. Billy is one of the people who I have met this semester; Billy and me are working on our finals together. He decided to come pick me up after class and brainstorm everything all the pros and cons. Stopped by a cafe joint first and then off to Japan Town. Decided to work at New People Cafe for a while. Afterwards we walked around shooting. Since Billy has a 135mm F/2 and I always wanted a 135mm lens, I used it through out the day. That lens is razor sharp even shot at F/2. I didn't play much with defocus control since I just wanted to get certain street photos. Although it's a bit heavy, you can easily tell the built quality in the lens.

After Japan Town, Billy wanted to stop by Fully Laced at Stones Town so we headed out to the store. Didn't stay to long and got some food at the food court. Since we were both tired, decided to park at Daly City Bart garage and take Bart back home. Since Billy had to run some errands downtown, he got off Montgomery while I headed home after a long day. I got another long weekend that I'm expecting not to mention finals as well. Going to be tired and running on barely any sleep.

As for today's 366 Entry, it's a photo of Billy that ran into his ex's grandma. At that time, we were both just waiting at Japan Town next to the peace tower, and by his luck ran into her. I was using Billy's 135mm, and this is an example of how sharp the lens is even shot wide open. Edge to edge sharpness, this lens is just amazing plus more. I did crop the photo and you can barely tell I did. While doing some test shots, the distance on getting someone is about a cross street exactly. You probably need that much space if you want the whole shot from head to toe. The focus is pretty fast and every time I took a look into the glass, you can see all the colors of the coating which, is just amazing. I always wanted a 135mm and finally got the chance just to shoot around. Although, majority of the times I use my 17-35mm or my 50mm, I'm used to shooting at a wider focal length. Using the 135mm again gave it a different prospective view on things. It makes you think just like any fixed focal length, which makes you become better. I don't think there were any cons, except considering that it's a bit heavy and shooting while walking, you would have to shoot at a faster shutter speed depending on what your ISO and f stop is. Even at times while Billy was driving his truck and I would be in the passenger seat shooting, at 1/8000 of a second at F/2, some photos that were focus after composing and getting the frame right, weren't focus. It might have been the bumpy roads or steady issues, but again that's some issues I found myself thinking still. Besides that con, everything else about the lens I dig very much. All in all, the image gives a good example and anyone who owns, used, or rented a 135mm, can vouch for me.

Day 124 of 365.

Finally got around to getting my Night of the Living Dead & Let the Right One Phantom City Creative prints framed. Now I just have to hang them on the wall. The folks over @ PCC do amazing work. You should definitely check them out, if they're not already on your radar.

Spent the weekend with some friends in North Norfolk. This is sunset on Snettisham beach with my two children and their friend in the foreground.
