Former BR (LSWR & SR) Class B4 0-4-0T 30096 here in the ownership of Corralls Ltd and carrying the name "Corrall Queen" stabled at the company's facility at Dibles Wharf, Southampton - 17/12/1972.
The 1893 vintage (built Nine Elms) locomotive spent its career operating from Eastleigh depot except for a brief sojourn at Ashford between September 1949 and October 1950. During its later years at Eastleigh it was usually to be found working at Winchester. It was withdrawn from BR service in October 1963 and entered industrial use with Corralls and later was sold into preservation with the Bluebell Railway and now carries the name "Normandy".

The date is June 1991 as crews from two trains exchange greetings while the sound of dynamic braking can be heard as the 4612 south decends the heavy 2.8% grade meeting the Budd Car at Moran. The patrol for #1 can be seen sitting at the top end of the siding just ahead of the Budd Car as the southbound's train of green BCOL boxcars pass by.
BCR's initial order of GE Dash 8-40CM's have just recently replaced the MLW's as mainline power.
This is the way it was. Now, the RDC's and the little yellow speeder are gone, most of those green boxcars have been cut up, and the 4612 is in storage facing an uncertain future with CN.
This was taken last month during the full moon. Something about these long cars that have such wonderful designs to them. Great flare and curves. I used a soft amber gel with the help of the full moon that is really bright and even gave me a few moon flares here. I really like this image more than this composition can show. I really wish these autos could tell their story about who was driving them and the places they went. Good old Americana!
I was thrilled to recently get a vintage era doll that I ALWAYS wanted, (and my all-time favourite vintage era outfit!) My platinum side-part bubble cut beauty direct from Europe has almost perfect skin tone colouring and lips that have retained a lovely light coral colour … but check out that fab ‘Marilyn-ish’ hairdo! The thatched part is very noticeable on this gal! She is perfect for ‘Black Magic’, (I can see why this was reportedly a favourite of Ruth Handler’s, as it is so chic and elegant! Very much like something Givenchy would have designed for Audrey Hepburn back then, IMO.) I prefer it with this clone clutch purse from the same era as it just looks sleeker and the dimpled ‘mesh’ texture looks much finer.
With Barbie all decked out in her finery, she needs a date - Here’s Ken! A single-owner 1963 guy from a seller who obviously looked after him, and whom just arrived today. He is wearing the equally slick ‘Special Date’ (which funnily enough, looks very similar to what young guys are wearing again around here- with the slim tailoring, narrow ‘lace-up’ shoes and skinny ties!) I was inspired by the song ‘My First Date’ from the 1961 ‘Barbie Sings!’ album that was playing while I was shooting these pics. I wonder where this gorgeous couple will go on their first date?

Just visible over the roof of the houses is the Lutherkirche in Frohnhausen. Built at the of the 19th century, it was proposed and financed by Alfred Krupp for his workers who resided in neighbouring areas.
Picked up these “Date Books” by Determined Productions last year. Most feature phototype revivals of wood type, as was popular in the 1960s–70s. I also have a bunch of their small square cookbooks and Peanuts books. Will post soon.
