Map of the Mid-Atlantic Canyon region-operating area is outlined with a dashed line. Inset: Norfolk Canyon (pictured) was a particular focus of the 2013 expedition. Mapping data was collected in 2011. (Figure adapted from Chaytor & Brothers 2012)
An event in commemoration of World AIDS Day, in which runners dashed up and down the Stone Arch Bridge in red underwear in the midst of a blizzard.
Top left pic.
The yellow dashed box. This area has a lot of parts in it. I was thinking about adding stringer and frame details to the sidewalls (both sides) , plus the brackets to hold up the de-icer? bottles above the window.
There is a smaller fuel cell (a guess from the blueprint) and a toilet cubicle (WC) which also need to be fabricated.
Between the WC and the oil? tank there is the flow meter? box.
The green outlined box (repeat opposite) is the area for the overhead storage which I've made some progress on, this can be seen in the bottom two pictures. I will lay some mesh in to complete the look (mesh from a tamiya car kit). The frame is a piece of brass rod (originally intended for a chinook interior which is on the shelf of doom) and some 1mm half round. After gluing (and waiting for the reaction) the plastic is pinched around the brass with pliers to close the gap. It slides along the rod allowing me to position later. I think it will work! Still a bit of effort needed on this.......
The white dashed box. This area has had the internal frame/stringer details removed, a few holes (for the wind deflectors at the waist position) to fill and it's ready for paint.
The white arrow points to the brackets for the waste gun, these need removing, this area needs the frame work reinstating as the window cut out would not have been cut out!
The seats are looking a little too large, this was an error on my part. They should have a slightly curved edge to fit in with the contour of the fuselage side. This would increase the corridor width slightly. I've also noticed (from my new reference pics) the doorway at frame 5 is the wrong shape/size, I copied the civilian airliner as they, at the time, were the only reference shots I had.
Right pics, top 3.
Window trials. I got some clear fix, as it's a new product I thought I'd test it. Unhappy with how tough the bond was I decided I need to beef up the joint around the windows. The last thing I want is a window pushing through after fixing the fuselage halves! The red arrows point to original kit windows (before and after mod). A piece of plastic was glued in and whittled down to give a frame for the glazing to push against. This was tested with the clear stock plastic sheet. I just need to mod. all of the frames I cut out! I've decided to replace all of the side glass with the sheet material.
I need to make the curtains up for the windows.
At 230 this morning, all of the sudden, Bon Bun dashed out from under the bed, went straight to her hay box laying very flat and shivering. I can hear her rapid rate of breathing and pounding heart beats. I have never seen her behaved like this before. I tried to calm her down and offer her some treats, but she refuse to eat. She even turn down her favorite Oxbow papaya tabs! The only thing I could do at the time was stroke her head and massage her tummy, just in case it is GI stasis. I stay up to seat with her and continue to offer her food and she kept turning them away. She did drank some water, twice on her own.
So this morning, at 8, I took her to her vet. They can find anything wrong with her. her bowel sound was present and there are no signs of external trauma or visible insect bites. Vet wanted to do an x-ray, but I didn't have enough money for that. So they gave her some fluid SQ, metacam, baytril and Oxbow critical care to take home with.
I am happy to report back Bon Bun is eating well, pooh well and behave like her normal self again. I am not sure what happened, but I am glad it is nearly over!
But when he got down to the petals he spat them out and dashed off on his next exciting adventure ...
Taken at the beginning of my Cornish holiday as I stood on St Ives harbour wall, having just dodged yet another shower. It epitomises for me the summer we've had this year. Optimism and hope constantly dashed. A case of, "Here it comes!", "Hoorah!" Hastily followed by, "There it goes!", "Booooo!". So full of promise early on, a hot couple of weeks in early Spring, quickly followed with dire warnings of drought and hosepipe bans from seriously sincere looking weathermen (who are probably now looking for jobs as spin doctors to politicians), only for it to then p*** it down for most of the Summer, biblically p*** it down! But, when on the odd day the sun did appear...oh, my! Skin tingling sunlight! Heat! Light! Colours! Proper colours, not greys with colour envy! Golden hours! Euphoria unbounded! :-))) Bad weather gear for winter in the North Sea stripped off! T-shirts, shorts, on! ...for about a day! :-((( Actually we did get some good runs of sunny days occasionally (the Olympics!), and what a difference it made to people's moods having the sun on their faces and bodies. If I'm being really picky, I like my summer heat to be warm not hot, I don't do desert heat or jungle humid. But, when you live in the upper Northern Hemisphere sunlight has to be one of the best therapists ever, so you take it however nature chooses to give it to you. Thank you, Miss! At least Summer gave the rainclouds a poke in their wet eyes by going out of season with one of the best displays of autumn colour in years, a very fiery display of colour, poetically enough! :-)

Dashed off during a meeting using a Montblanc 149 fountain pen with broad nib and Sheaffer Skrip blue-black ink on scavenged Hammermill Laser Print 24-pound scratch paper: high-grade printer paper, but certainly nothing one would ask for at the art supply store for this purpose..
My first upload was a 200 DPI scan. When I saw the micro-sumi-e effect of the varying ink absorption, capturing more detail from this tiny (2 1/2 x 3 inch) sketch seemed worthwhile, so I replaced the earlier scan with a 600 DPI version. Enlarging the image reveals some nice ink texture, but also shows how my inadequate draftsmanship slanders Alexis! The flaws are mine.
caught my eye as her and a friend were passing in the opposite direction when we were in town yesterday, i dashed after her and asked if i could get a quick foto of her and her lovely head piece, she said sure but that she wasn't going to stop so i continued walking with them as i got my camera out, i said that it was a lovely piece of green stone that she had hanging from her ear adn she said that she had found it, when i asked where i was told in a local park, on saying that i thought some would have been sad to be missing it nay (which i'm guessing might be short for renae) said that things come and go, to which i agreed, she also said that ponamu shouldn't be bought but given and that it had significant karmic conections to which i could only agree, i would have liked to have got the shot with a less busy back ground as this one doesn't do her feathers justice but as they seemed to be in a hurry i didn't want to impose any further, this shot was taken for the 100 strangers project. Three MANs rolled past our yard so I dashed up to have a look. In previous years one of the wagons delivering into this field ended up well bogged and nearly on its side. One of the three was in the wrong place so only two tipped. The one that left was the only one that was badged I think, a 35 400
I believe this is the guy (see photo note) who dashed across the tracks as I did not notice him/her as I shot this, and as I was walking briskly up the platform I heard the horn and saw someone dash across. I have to believe it was either this person or someone off frame.
Not so long ago the sea-wash of coal detritus from past mining operations was a real blot on the Northumbrian coastal landscape. its not so common now, this being the only place where I came across on my walk. By coincidence, I found this from Andrew Motion", a poem written about Lindisfarne"
HOLY ISLAND (Part)
Boulder clay on the outcrops, and beaches
dotted and dashed with coal dust.

Rare sunny Day in September we dashed out to countryside with a few props and a black bedsheet as a shawl and had a laugh with the camera.

I was observing pigeons through my camera when a youngster unexpectedly dashed through the frame, scattering them.
Moby Dick is my favorite American novel, and Melville inspires my landscape and seascape photography! “But as in landlessness alone resides the highest truth, shoreless, indefinite as God - so better is it to perish in that howling infinite, than be ingloriously dashed upon the lee, even if that were safety! For worm-like, then, oh! who would craven crawl to land!” ― Herman Melville, Moby Dick

Ralph Waldo Emerson. The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship.
Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods: We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

I escaped from work on Saturday morning and dashed across to Healey House to try and Catch John Myers four motors on their way to join the Meltham War Weekend parade. I got there with a minute to spare, unfortunately, as on a previous occasion, it was difficult to catch the old motors without modern ones stuck between or behind the slow moving wagons. Having got what I could I drove in to Meltham and wandered around taking photos until the parade at 12.30. I ended up staying until 3.00-still in my filthy work clothes. The original plan was to go home and change but I'd got myself a handy parking place and due to my dodgy ankle not lending itself to walking far I decided to stay put. It was very dull until around 1.00 and then someone switched the sun on and it was a glorious afternoon. It certainly seemed to be very busy, it deserved to be as there was an awful lot going on, obviously a lot of hard work behind it so well done to the organisers. I took around 300 shots and I will upload in batches as I have time, at the time of writing (Fri) they are all edited.
PeeWee is back from getting her 'pebble-dashed' bonnet fixed after a Chelsea tractor kicked up great lumps of gravel at her. Took her up to my favourite car wash and cafe to get a good wash and wax, wheels cleaned and tyres painted. Don't know when her next outing will be......

I spotted an interesting sky developing through my kitchen window so I dashed out to the other side of Broadford Bay to catch this before the sunlight completely disappeared.
A bit of a rush tonight, dashed out for a photograph, home for a bite to eat, then back to work, OH got a migrane!
