Buffalo County and several counties around us were in a drought situation, it was relentless long stretch of long and hot. We need this, and we need this bad.
So this was a relief, finally a good rain maker, and awesome shelf cloud to boot! 65mph winds, pea sized hail, and one mean looking shelf cloud rolled in late in the afternoon. I was just by chance at the Hilltop Mall when the storm was coming in, so I pulled over and got these great snaps!

For Jan.
A contrasting view of sunshine and dark clouds, seen through the window of a moving F train in Brooklyn, near Smith & 9th Streets. One can also see the florescent lamp reflected on the inside of the window, some scratched graffiti on the surface of the window, as well as reflections from the doors and windows across the car, revealing views of Brooklyn from the other side of the train.
I've never seen this massive (Catholic?) church close up and don't know its name, but I imagine it's over 100 years old, judging from its size and architecture...

I Seriously, wasn't going to go out this night... Had a weeks worth of hell, and I really just wanted to do was get off work and go home. I was tired, I was cranky, it was the first weekend I've had off in a Month...
As soon as I pulled into the driveway @home, I could hear the weather radio going off and my storm capturing sensation came over me. Listening to the bullitins coming over the radio and I Freaked!. The storms were closer than I had thought. NWS just put warnings for Northern Buffalo County for super fast development of strong to potentially super severe, with large hail, and possible Tornadoes.
Photography Chance of a lifetime... Even though someone could cast me as a member of the Walking Dead....I was a trooper and I didn't wimp out! Luckily I had the my camera on the charger... Grabbed all my equipment & I hauled A** North... 20 mins later I found myself in the perfect spot, under the perfect conditions!
Cresting over northern Buffalo County, ready to cross between Pleasanton & Ravenna Nebraska, this cell was rapidly building and already had tornado warning on it. Incredible CG lightning in front of the storm cell was just to good to capture, with lighting firing off every few seconds.

Comeing back home from newark and ended up in a right rain storm i parked up when this lovely rainbow apperd HAVE I FOUND THE END OF THE RAINBOW
That was a werid day, one min it would be pouring and then it was it would be sunny out of no where,
i loved this pic becuz the dark clouds.
and the Flagg moving in the wind..

Yet another day of not getting out and about... always makes it tough with a project like this.
Decided to play around with a panorama from the balcony, the ominous sky looked pretty cool so thought it would make a useful subject.
yep, I found another darkclouds.
I like this slap cause...
1. somehow i jumped higher than I thought to get this slap up and
2. I got bitched at for stickering by some scensters!
good times
The first storm of the season brought cloud formations I haven't seen before. I'm glad I caught this.
