I have very little experience with landscape photography, so this vacation was a good chance to practice. Here's the beach taken with the ulta-wide angle 10-20mm Sigma on 10mm. The water really is that color-- a wonderful shade of blue, and its so clear you can see down 30 feet.
For some great landscape photography, be sure to check out Andrew Houser.

Thanks for all the comments. If you have any suggestions on how to improve a beach shot please let me know. The main thing that bothers me about this is it seems a little less than sharp, and I'm not sure if its the lens, an artifact of a longish exposure, or something I've done in setting up the shot. I *was* careful to use a remote to trigger the exposure.
This was taken at dusk, so the sky was dark, and I did have a graduated ND filter with me, but don't know if it was used on this particular shot. From the look of it, I'd say yes, but it was fairly dark. I tried coming back another day for shots when it was completely dark, but the wind was blowing so hard the camera was shaking on the tripod. Also, I don't have a watch which can time the long exposures in the dark :-(
Yel,
There was a big hole in the sky and the sun decided to shine like it never did before at Cap d'Espoir :)
An overcast morning with a sliver of sunshine = a very pretty scene at Caloundra.

Sunsets and sunrises always make for interesting subjects. Sometimes a cloud comes by to color our view. Near St.John's, NL, Canada.
We all came out to Montreux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa and the Mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
The halfway station hut on Brighton beach's Volks Electric railway, under a slightly mad sky.
HDR at -3,0 and +3 combined in Photomatrix and then tweaked in LR4 and PerfectEffects 8. This is clearly so overcooked that it almost requires a Gordon Ramsay sweary rant.

Viel zu kalt und viel zu nass für meinen Geschmack!
Much too cold and too wet for me!

We were heading back into Missouri as the strongest of the storms were now way north. No way to catch up to them and the cells south were redeveloping for another wave. It was our end destination for the night...
We were in the middle of the 2 cells, and as we paused for a few minutes to get our bearings. Beautiful ambient light was cresting from the setting sun.

This is another building in the fort Churchill area, just down the road at what is called Buckland station.
Its actually behind a locked gate and not open to the public to get any closer than this.
I like this picture because of the Sky ,the textures in the wood, and the way the roof is collapsing in on it self. I am not sure how I feel about the road runs across the screen, some days I really like it others not so much.
I hope you enjoy.
Caloocan City, Philippines. It rained awhile ago and immediately after the rain I saw the sun coming out of the dark clouds. Photoshopped slight adjustment for the "surreal" look :)
Isaiah 45:8
"You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it.
There were two consecutive nights of similar cloud conditions. Still, the sunset colors were different. The light fell on the lake a bit nicer too.
