Changing weather at Rhossili Bay. Gower

Along the Delaware River in South Jersey, USA.

I got caught in a very heavy downpour just after this brilliant display of sunlight on the Somerset Levels.

Looking along East beach Nairn towards Nairn, looking out over the Moray Firth with a small lighthouse and sailing boat just visible in the distance. Taken with a Sony A7 111 and 16-35mm lens at 35mm at 12:25pm on 6th September 2025; ISO 160, f/11; 1/125s.

Yesterday was a spectacular sunset I was able to watch from my favourite hill . Dark clouds lay over the country like Brexit over the EU.

Early August storm cells are usually non severe and with little to no precip. Though the dry air creates some of the best photographic scenarios you could ask for if you love clouds... especially storms in Nebraska.

I had the afternoon off and was ready for that afternoons chase. Camera in hand, and storms moving into northern Buffalo County from the northwest...I was ready to catch some incredible storm captures.

August has always been my month to capture some of my best pics. This set of captures was just the first of many to come!

We were invited by one of the Wife's guiding friends to see 'The Ceremony of the Keys' which is basically the locking up of the Tower of London each night. It's a ceremony that's been happening every night/evening for the past 750 years. I took my camera along hoping to get some good photos but as it turns out, photographing the ceremony is strictly prohibited. So I contented myself with getting shots of the setting sun on the Tower of London a bit earlier in the evening instead. The dark clouds overhead really helped as well!

Bonus points for spotting the spooky face.

We had packed up and parted ways that evening. It would be about another 2 hours before the storm to the south would be in the area we chose for that afternoon. We were not set up for night chasing that day and so we called it a night.

These storms were dying on the way north as we tagged along side. Nice rays with cloud-base to end this day's chase!

Had the ancient shepherds had means to travel fast, they would have noticed that rainbow is not anchored to the ground but moves with the viewer. They would have understood that the arc is in the eye of the beholder, that each of us has their own, personal rainbow. Had that happened, would they ever have dared to tell a story where rainbow is the sign of god's covenant with people?

Reminiscing, I haven't spent this many times in this location in years past. Its been the 2016 hot spot for severe storms to cross over from northern Kansas into south central Nebraska in 2016. Again I was there to capture these severe weather moments.

Its mid August and its late season for severe storms. We are in a drought and any rain helps as we get closer to harvest time. This was a beast storm. HP all the way, and I didn't get many captures from this storm but what I did get was something special.

Now just east of Red Cloud Nebraska and I was eastbound on Hwy 136.

Paused a few moments to get the radar check and to figure out if the storm behind me was going to overtake my position before I got further to the east.

Our first non severe thunderstorms of the 2016 season.

I've been itching to get out to capture some Nebraska stormscapes. I was totally satisfied with that afternoons storm front that passed through about 6:30pm.

Not bad for my first batch of storm captures 2016!

Still to the west of Smith Center Kansas, for the moment...There was decent observable rotation...
