I am trying to pick out the briefly shiny moments from this summer. For a quick reaction I have to be prepared. In that case the viewpoint is near at my home. And this is the sunset. Because of the mountain one hour earlier as normally. Sometimes this fact makes my dreaming on a golden sunset at the ocean.
It's rare for us to get really dramatic weather or clouds. There's a big storm rolling through Southern California, and it brought some awesome stormy skies.

The National Weather Service had issued a warning for Landspouts with the oncoming cells moving into western and central Buffalo county.
I was already out and in the area for the warning, but I didn't see anything that day. Just a few interesting cloudscapes from that afternoons adventure.

I hand a phenomenal day of storm chasing in Nebraska on this day. A western Nebraska severe weather event, with moderate risk of tornadoes..
A few miles north of Sidney, on Highway 385, I finally got into a safe position to get some nice captures. Pointing my camera to the due west, another wall cloud was trying for form.

We pulled way north and got back into southern Nebraska. Now on the backside of this thunderstorm. Intense cc lighting was to good to pass up.
We pulled off just north of Alma Nebraska. Pointed the lens due south and captured some of the best lightning of 2015

After basking in the sun and getting serenaded by the breeze it was time for the sun to set. This shot of the pristine water of the Serena beach in Mandvi, Gujrat is calming and soothing. The fading light of the sun, about to go down the horizon, seems to engulf the whole sky and the sea to transform the whole shot into a dreamlike scene!

It has been an excellent start to the 2016 chase Season. Bonus was, that I had the day off and no commitments except for storm chasing. I was set for an Epic Day!
I ended up with well over 700 pic from this storm chasing event, but I've skimmed it down to about 100+. Truly this will become some of my best severe weather photography to date...
I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had now positioned myself just to the North of Wray Colorado.
Strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... It's all about timing, and I thought it wouldn't produce till it was well west of my location. Giving me that perfect view of the backside rotation of the storm.
In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.

Taken near Devils Den in the Marlborough Downs. Here I was trying to capture the gentle curves of the Wiltshire landscape and bleakness of winter with no crops of foliage on the trees. Three bracketed shots blended in PS.
This evening at Pt. Mugu Beach. The skies looked more promising as I was leaving work this afternoon, but dark clouds decided to roll in right when I got there. Regardless, I decided to just stick around and see what it would look like once the sun descended below the cloud cover.
I had a few shots with better compositions, but sea spray on the filters reflecting sunlight ruined them. Had to keep wiping the filters with my shirt, but I was only able to get a few shots that didn't have tiny reflections :(

Herøya Industrial Park is one of the biggest industrial parks in Norway and is situated in the municipality of Porsgrunn in Telemark, 150 km south of Oslo. With its strategic location on the coast in the far south of Norway, Herøya Industrial Park is the best choice for export companies and anyone else who needs fast, efficient links with Europe and the rest of the world.
Heading home from Shoreham yesterday afternoon I noticed some cracking dark clouds on the horizon so I had to stop and take a pic. As can be seen the fields are very parched after a long period of very hot dry weather. Apparently that's about to change tonight with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast. They have been wrong before!
This was taken from the lay-by near the river Adur on the A283 just south of Bramber and Upper Beeding.
My city just received over 200mm of rainfall in past 11 hours, over 300mm in the past 24 hours and approximately 800mm in the past four days. Just for context, Mumbai's average August rainfall stands at 566mm.
Its pouring cats and dogs, bulls and buffaloes here... with no signs of abatement. Its absolute mayhem on the streets for the past two days, more can be read here
I ventured out couple of days back (and this shot is from a moving cab), only to return all drenched. As on today, the skyscapers have punctured through the clouds. All of them !

I Seriously, wasn't going to go out this night... Had a weeks worth of hell, and I really just wanted to do was get off work and go home. I was tired, I was cranky, it was the first weekend I've had off in a Month...
As soon as I pulled into the driveway @home, I could hear the weather radio going off and my storm capturing sensation came over me. Listening to the bullitins coming over the radio and I Freaked!. The storms were closer than I had thought. NWS just put warnings for Northern Buffalo County for super fast development of strong to potentially super severe, with large hail, and possible Tornadoes.
Photography Chance of a lifetime... Even though someone could cast me as a member of the Walking Dead....I was a trooper and I didn't wimp out! Luckily I had the my camera on the charger... Grabbed all my equipment & I hauled A** North... 20 mins later I found myself in the perfect spot, under the perfect conditions!
Cresting over northern Buffalo County, ready to cross between Pleasanton & Ravenna Nebraska, this cell was rapidly building and already had tornado warning on it. Incredible CG lightning in front of the storm cell was just to good to capture, with lighting firing off every few seconds.
