A young grape leaf captured a few weeks ago with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens.

Edited on the iPad in Snapseed.

The dappled morning light accentuated the colors and texture of the newly unfurled leaf.

I have a black and white version that I like and will prob. post sometime in the future.

There were at least three other red deer stags close by in the forest bellowing in response to this one protecting his hinds...

There are a few places on the Lower Loop trail where you walk under overhanging rocks - and hope nothing shifts!

I wonder how many people will find the light in this portrait as interesting as I do. There's nothing like a perfectly lit face but lighting like this , for me its a winner everytime.

The other photo that I uploaded today I titled Dappled Light.... but could this also be considered dappled light? Do you have a preference, one over the other? LOL Either way, HFF!

My zoo membership is expiring in early August, so I wanted to get the most out of it and went to the Zoo on a random Tuesday to avoid the crowds. Most people, I assume, come to the zoo to see the animals, but I mostly come to see plants. This time it was just me and my camera and I honestly paid almost no attention to the animals. Except for flamingos , a lama who happened to be next to the flowers I was photographing and the duck who was trying to eat some bread in the lunch area, I took no pictures of any other animals. Plants on the other hand, is another story. :-)

This time I brought Pentacon 50 with me. :-) This image was taken at my favorite place in the San Diego Zoo called the Fern Forrest. If you come at the right time, the dappled light there is amazing.

Tomb located in the Lafayette Cemetery #1, New Orleans, Louisiana.

On Saturdays I spend the day with Mum and walk Ross in the woods there. Its a lovely weekend, summer has arrived at last!

A woodland area near Norsworthy Bridge in the Burrator area of the Dartmoor National Park. This is alongside the stream known as Newleycombe Lake.

I loved the dappled light and how it lit up the moss on the rocks and leaves on the trees.

Highlights from a photowalk with my friend Mike V. in downtown Ottawa, where Mike was fixating on the dappled light reflecting against the wall... from the middle of the street.

Spoiler alert: he never got hit by a car or anything. Sunday mornings in downtown Ottawa aren't all that busy.

A sun dappled and somewhat atmospheric woodland scene at Kennal Vale which lies midway between Redruth and Falmouth. Better known for its historical position as a gunpowder manufacturing site catering for the mining industry, the woods now offer a pleasant woodland walk among the old ruins and babbling brook.

It's been a long time. Hope you are all doing well in these strange times. Sending you some sunshine and good wishes.

Flag Ponds Nature Park is a nature preserve located in Lusby, Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County, Maryland. It is operated by the Calvert County Department of Natural Resources. The park includes nature trails and a beach for swimmers.(Wikipedia)

Almost had the forest to myself that afternoon, bar one poor little women being DRAGGED around by her 3 year old Irish Wolf Hound...it was a severe miss match...Plus a small group of hiker who asked me for direction...Big mistake...if they'd only known my track record they'd never had asked.....Which reminds me...when l was a student back in the 70's...l was stopped by some guy in a very expensive car in the centre of Birmingham, who asked me if l knew such and such place in the City...so l naturally said (being the Good Samaritan I am.) I said "Oh Yes." and promptly gave him detailed direction to the heart of Spagetti Junction...l often keep an eye out for him as l drive through it. :-)

SORRY...I shall stop posting these boring shot soon and get back some mindless stuff very soon.

A unique perspective of Sugarloaf Mountain in the Eastern Hudson Highlands captured from North Point on Crow's Nest Mountain.

With the skies dominated by cloud, the sun broke through and lit the Eastern Highlands only for a brief moment. Compressing the scene with a long lens emphasized the dramatic scale of the Highlands in relation to the northern surroundings.

I really need to diversify!! More bokeh with the Helios 44M on Fuji XT1.

It was the middle of the day and the dappled light penetrated the canopy. There was mama. She told her twins to stay back. Darn.

There a few times in my photography journey where I’ve seen a landscape that I would call “perfect”. I don’t feel nature is perfect....perfect in the sense of photographically. Nature has flaws but yet still beautiful in its own right. This particular forest scene was just right. One of those scenes where I go OH😲. Nice diffused light coming from the east, a nice arrangement of old growth redwoods, and a perfectly manicured forest floor. It was almost as if nature had its own lawn service. The scene looked like it could be in a fairy tale book. Such a surreal experience.

A mother grizzly and her yearling cub, in dappled light, on the move down to the waterfront where they can swim over to the rich stands of the spring sedge grass in the middle of the estuary. The estuary is a very exposed area and the mother was on high alert sensing a male grizzly in the area. Males of any age will kill cubs that they believe they did not sire in the previous year so that they can mate with the mother. Khutzeymateen inlet, BC.

Grand Canyon National Park

Desert View Overlook

Arizona, USA

One of my struggles when capturing photos of the Grand Canyon is to try to convey a sense of the size of the Canyon. I'm not sure if one can truly appreciate just how expansive the park is without visiting.

The watchtower is a re-creation by Mary Colter of an American Indian Watchtower and was constructed in 1932. It stands 70 feet tall.

The Grand Canyon was formed over 5 to 6 million of years by the erosion caused by the Colorado River. Many visitors are surprised with the cool rim temperatures, but with the South Rim at an elevation ranging to over 7,000 feet, winter snow averages about 60 inches a year. The North Rim elevation is about 1,000 feet higher and receives an average of 144 inches of snow a year and is closed from mid-autumn to mid-spring.

The photo was taken during the afternoon with the warmer light of a late autumn day. I am often amazed at just how much the light difference from season of the year, time of day and the clouds influence the colors viewed from any location within the park.

The canyon is more than 200 miles long 12 miles wide and a mile deep. The national park is visited by about 6 million people a year. On a clear day, like this one, it is possible to see for 100 miles and the distance across to the North Rim seems to shrink.

There are always visitors at the South Rim of the park, but during the winter season, it is possible to find overlooks with few or no other visitors. One can find a sense of serenity when viewing a scene like this especially when viewing it alone.

On a sad note, while millions of visitors respect the beauty of the work of Mother Nature, on this trip, we saw that a few felt compelled to use markers to on some of the safety walls and leave behind messages, initials, etc.

When it snowed heavily in the Palouse region of eastern Washington, it was a landscape photographers' delight. Dappled light rolling across the hills was frosting on the cake.
