This is the second shot, of a small series taken in the woods.
No flash ........... natural dappled light!
Same place but not the same time as I took this previous photo on one of our local streets with historic homes

I liked the dappled light and a little more color this time around...doing a little "hobbling where I can! Have a good Sunday!
We enjoyed a splendid lunch in this square following our earlier visit to the vet in Villecroze. There were a few painters situated around the village with their easels (two in this photo) and I surmised they must be from an art class and the students were out and about in the village. I thought this one looked good in B&W because of the dappled light filling the square.
A little experiment in my local woods with my fisheye lens. The shadow cast from my rig created an extra-terrestrial effect. Why wouldn't an ET be drawn to a carpet of bluebells somewhere in the West Midlands?
A spectacular recess cave, 700 feet (213m)long and 100 feet deep, awaits a short walk at Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio. The cave is formed with an overhang of a ledge on the cliff 90( 27.4m) feet above.
The woman with her dog standing next to the sparsely-leafed tree gives a sense of scale to the picture.

The world is not interested in what we do for a living. What they are interested in is what we have to offer freely ...... hope, strength, love and the power to make a difference ~ Sasha Azevedo
We drove past this spot the other day and I noticed the amazing copper coloured leaves on the platane trees and the yellowing leaves of the vines in the vineyard so we returned yesterday and parked up so I could take a few shots. The sun was stage left and I love the way it appears the trees are leaning in towards the late autumn light

Another last minute photo when we stopped off for a meal on the way home from a weekend away. I decided to visit the churchyard again and the Ivy creeping over the headstones caught my eye, along with the light. I find these places fascinating.
I have some catching up to do...again!

Happy 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service.
This is a portion of the Islands in the Sky section of the Canyonlands National Park near Moab, Utah. The canyons, mesas and butts were formed by the erosion of the colorful Colorado Plateau by the Colorado and Green Rivers. The park covers more than 300,000 acres and seems much less crowded (at least during the summer when it is hot) than other national parks. Utah Juniper and Pinyon Pines grow throughout the park with evidence of past lives frequently seen. Arches National Park is also located near Moab.

Sunlight bled through the rainforest surrounding the Sol Duc Falls and gave it a nice shine on our way back from the waterfall shoot. As a word of advice for Olympic-bound travelers, if you don't want to fight the crowds at the Hoh Rainforest, which is a wonderful place, the rainforest around Sol Duc and Lake Crescent is nothing to sneeze at.
The Spruce Forest Artisan Village is located in Casselman River Bridge SP. The historic log homes were relocated here from various sites in Western Maryland and restored for use by local artists. Unfortunately the studios were closed when we were there since it was a Sunday. HBM!

Cotignac this morning when there was a large bric-a-bac market throughout the village. It was very busy indeed. The water fountain is called the Fontaine des Quatre Saisons (Fountain of the Four Seasons) and is a very old original feature in the village
the late sun fell through the leaves, a chaotic pattern on the stone. he walked through it, unaware, his world a small rectangle of light held in his hand. behind him, his shadow became a different creature, elongated and distorted by the wall. there are two worlds: the one we look at, and the one we cast behind us. the wall saw both.
Another image taken on the Minolta AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6D lens that I already had at home attached to the 20 year old film camera.
I doubt I will be using this lens much or at all after my initial experimentation spirit wears off here, but it has been a fun little challenge to get some images that I actually like out of this mediocre lens. I think the lens does best in the dappled light like in this image.
