Yesterday was a beautiful, mild, sunny Autumn day. I couldn't resist the allure of being drawn away from my office into the afternoon sun to take some shots.

Above Debenham the Deben meanders to its source just above Mickfield Meadow. For much of the summer and autumn the river often dries up completely allowing exploration along the river bed.
No apologies for another photo from this viewpoint. It's one of my favourite places in Wiltshire to stand and contemplate.
Tracey looks out in wonder at the views possible from the cable car as it rises up to its destination at the Heights of Abraham.
We are moored on the right, and I went off to look for scenes to photograph. I set my tripod here on the path, liking the view through the bridge with the light flickering on the underside of it, and the boats in the background. Then a man came along on a bike and stopped so as not to get in my picture. Then he asked if that was a good spot to take a picture from, so I told him I liked it, and he said if it was good for me he'd take a picture too, and took a little camera out of his pocket! He must have presumed I knew what I was doing just because I had a camera on a tripod :) Actually I've got blown highlights, so I'm sure someone will tell me I should try HDR, but I still thought it was worth uploading.
If you're using the new flickr, just click on the picture to see it large on black.
The different textures of green, the scattering of elegant trees, the meandering river and isolated barns make the scene peaceful, the eyes takes in the dry stone walls that dissect the landscape but only improve it.
A winding gravel path cuts through a dense Luxembourg forest, inviting exploration amidst the towering trees.
Scouring rush (also commonly called rough horsetail) is a non-flowering, rush like, rhizomatous, evergreen perennial which typically grows 3-5’ tall and is native to large portions of Eurasia, Canada and the U.S., including Missouri. It typically occurs in wet woods, moist hillsides and peripheries of water bodies (lakes, rivers, ponds)...Today, the equisetums are categorized as fern allies in large part because they, like the ferns, are non-flowering, seedless plants which reproduce by spores.
