I saw the potential of this shot as I looked up in the tree-- It looks like a shot in a magazine to me!
Had to go back to this area we visited a few years ago. Every late February/Early March, the crab apple trees bloom with beautiful pink flowers. Pink is her FAVORITE.
Wouldn't you love to shove off from one of those waterfront home docks for a day of boating in the sun? Or even dappled sunlight from passing clouds :-). This is a part of the Laurelhurst neighborhood, a hilly peninsula that juts out dividing Union Bay from Lake Washington. I viewed it through a long lens from the Interlaken area on Capitol Hill.
Izzy McFizzy (our neighbor's cat who mostly lives with us and is not actually named Izzy McFizzy) caught on our shed roof. This dilapidated roof, is slated to be replaced in the new year. Look at that moss. Classic Northwest.

A very mild day in New Hampshire on Saturday so I took my baby camera outside on the playground with my daughter and some of the neighbors kids as well. This is the downstairs neighbor caught in a moment of stillness in their "clubhouse" comprised of a thicket of evergreen shrubs :)
The trail led down to patches where red campion and ragged robin were already flowering in tiny, rough flowery meadows skirted by tall alder. As I descended, deeper into the woodland shade, hanging from moss covered branches, ferns gracefully hung, backlit and glowing, appearing transparent against the bright, dappled sunlight.

A delightful glade of trees is passed before descending the slopes that lead to the delightful village of Baslow and the end of the walk, not to mention a lovely tea room.

I like this photo. Composed in the forest behind Michaela's aunt's house in Rimburg. The lighting was perfect for the situation, and Michaela with that lovely yellow dress, a perfect muse.
Marsilea Quadrifoloia reflecting in the Fern Room pool. The Marsileaceae North America or better known perhaps by its common name the Four Leaf Clover or Water Shamrock.. Here it takes center stage in the pool of the Fern Room at the Como Conservatory.
Experience the ambiance of dappled light, a gentle waterfall and floating mist. Walk among green lacey foliage and step back in time through a garden of living fossils. Ferns are one of the most ancient groups of plant surviving today. The Fern Room at Marjorie McNeely Conservatory contains over 100 species of ferns and fern allies. Funny old day at work today - there were only four of us in, so we started the day with a little breakfast and coffee ;) We did have our carpet fitter and his assistant turn up a bit later, to put a new carpet in one of the offices, so the building felt a bit more occupied.
Popped over to Old Street Post Office in the afternoon, to return one of Tim's birthday presents (the online shop had sent me the wrong colour t-shirt). After work, three out of the four of us went to the pub to meet our friend and former colleague - I just had a quick half a shandy, then went off for a climb at the Arch with Tim. Stupid hot, but nice and quiet there for a change.
