Dappled light on Matthes Crest, Yosemite. One of the Echo Peaks on the left. Whitebark pines in foreground and on the slopes below the crest.
A juvenile yellow-crowned night heron is perched on a tree branch, set against a backdrop of lush, blurry green foliage. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating a dappled light effect on the bird and tree!!!
What a scorcher! Needed to find some shade and the bamboo seemed as good a place as any ;-))

Glenda calls out for the Dove and it flies to her!
The Dove is so happy not to be alone in the big forest any longer.
A rock field on the side of a hill basks in the dappled Sun. Moss completely covers the rocks and thrives in these conditions
At the moment busy with other important things, such as orientating for a new house, so not much time for my contacts.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday
Thank you for taken your time to visit me, comments or faves are always much appreciated!
An English Country Garden is not a garden without its GREENHOUSE! Watch this space ....... x
As i sit watching Monty and Carol in Gardeners world, i live in hope that the weather will be kind enough for the foundations for my greenhouse to be dug, and built. I don't know how much longer my excitement can be contained!

I’m punning unforgivably now. I’ve been thinking about Paul Strand lately, and the quiet power his photos have. Honestly, I understand his work less than that of most others I appreciate, and yet I’m aware that many of his photos have… something I can’t entirely define, but it has a kind of magic. The light on this wall reminded me a little of his magic.

The gardens at the Calgary Zoo are at their peak this time of year. There are a couple of benches, tucked in off the main pathway where one can sit by a pond, or, in my case, look for photo ops.
Dappled light on the Santa Catalina range, north of Tucson. From Catalina State Park looking east along the north side of the front range. I think Romero Canyon, home to Romero Pools, lies just beyond the nearest sunlit ridge. Mt. Lemmon is lost in the clouds.
A fantastic weather day with ever-changing light and shadow patterns. The highest peaks are lost in cloud. On the trail leading to a pass then to Sgurr Na Stri.

27th August 2020:
The weather forecast was dreadful for today. But, in fact it turned out slightly better than predicted. Although it's been pretty windy all day.
As I'd got some more pears yesterday, which are delicious I took them out into the garden when the sun came out and grabbed a photo. Liked the dappled light and shadows, so here it is.
The Silly News for today is, that it's : National Pots De Creme Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-pots-de-creme-day-august...
Or : National Just Because Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-just-because-day-august-27/
Rather like the idea of today. 😀
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they're meant to be.

Dappled light helps to display the depth and colors of the Grand Canyon.
The magnificent Grand Canyon National Park is located in northern Arizona and was formed over millions of years by the Colorado River. The canyon is more than 200 miles long 12 miles wide and a mile deep. The national park is visited by about 5 million people a year.
The mid-autumn setting sun warms the spectrum of colors and provides some nice light within the Grand Canyon. This is an old D200 photo that had not been given adequate attention by me.

Walls of spires at Bryce Canyon National Park light up during the morning sun as two hikers make their way on the trail below.
All Are Welcome Here
Church records show that First Congregational Church got its start in the log cabin of its founder, James T. Gifford. It’s a landmark that existed only three blocks from the current church structure.
The church’s present building – its third- was constructed at the corners of Chicago and Center Streets in 1889 at a cost of $35,000. Constructed with red pressed brick and brownstone trim, the interior was laid out as a “church in the round,” or the “Akron” style popular at the time.
The sanctuary included an organ with over 250 pipes – an instrument that still ranks as one of the largest in the Fox Valley. The large seating capacity of First Congregational Church soon made it a community auditorium on par with the current Hemmens Cultural Center.
Jane Addams, Booker T. Washington, and John Dewey were among the notables who spoke in the building. The sanctuary also served as the sight of high school graduations and other community functions.
It's not the best composed shot I have ever taken, but I couldn't resist this strangle world of dew in the early morning light. Who knew what beauty could be found in wet grass and weeds.
Barely any light to work with... I'm really not sure how he manages just a little shaft of light coming in through the wee window.
