At the office with 3 officials from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). They are also members of an office within METI that the Japanese government has set up to promote Japanese anime, manga, fashion, design, food and culture across the world - but not only to promote but to turn Japanese contents into business.

The office is called "Cool Japan" [クール・ジャパン室] and was established June this year.

The catchphrase "Cool Japan" will be used at events and other activities for this huge project but what do you think about the term? Does it sound cool or not-so-cool? How would you describe Japanese anime, manga, games, fashion etc in a couple of words?

There is a poll embedded in this article.

As you already know, I have a lot of clients in the Japanese pop culture field including Good Smile Company, Bushiroad, King Records, Konami, Kadokawa, Production IG, Ascii Media Works and many more who have all agreed to suport my new venture. They have been very open to sharing their content and the inflight entertainment systems (which will all be iPads by the way) will be showing a lot of their anime titles - which will also include my TV show Culture Japan (season 1 + 2) too.

One of the selling points about Mirai Airlines is that there will be exclusive merchandise available in the inflight duty free - figures and merchandise from licenses held by my clients.

The best thing about the flight experience however is the safety video which will be fully animated by JC Staff just like Mirai Millennium.

To-Love-Ru. Sairenji Haruna came in two different christmas versions. Very nice for the living room in the pre-christmas time. And of course you see Belldandy “Fighting Wings” and my other Kurumi figure in the background.

You are not restricted to having Omamori or Ofuda from one temple or shrine - the Ofuda on the right is from a different shrine. Hamaya or Ofuda should be placed in a high location - which is why you will see these near the ceiling when entering a Japanese household or office.

And the coverage from the Hobby Maker Show 2011 Winter 2011 starts with Some lovely Hatsune Miku Append figures - this one here is the 100th figma which goes with a moe cutesome style over its scale figure counterpart.

Initially we prepare 3 variations of makeup - each giving a slightly different look and feel after placed on the body with eyes and wig. Next step is to make paint masks which are like stencils - one mask for each layer of paint. Paint masks are called "Tosou Masuku" [塗装マスク] and are needed for mass production as it would not be practical to hand paint each one.

I'm visiting the mask factory this week and will take photos to show you the process.

After the production process and line is fixed for Mirai Ver 1.0 - we will make a smaller oppai part. Some folks ask me why the oppai is so big but its only just a tad bigger than the L Bust on a Dollfie ><

Speaking of glasses, for folks who have always wanted to have big bouncy anime (optical) eyes, now is your chance. J-List will be giving away these anime glasses to enable you to make that transformation without any Minority Report style eye transplant surgery.

To get your grubby mitts on them, all you need to do is to pop along to the J-List booth at the Anime Expo exhibition hall and spend some moolah on anything. Or you can go along to the J-List panel on Sat July 2nd where they will give em out for free - check the schedule for the room number.

If you cant go to AX then they will send you a free random pair with any purchase from J-List.

Most walls in Japan are made of wood and plaster so we got this tool that helps us figure out where supporting beams of wood are behind the wall.

You can pick this one up from Amazon for less than 1,000 yen.

My first smart doll... lol...

I thought she'll be my ONLY smart doll but I'm already craving for another one...

I thought MSD was big now she makes everything sooo small...

I couldn't care less about the messy background at home... still adjusting to this big gal... :)

Looks like my girls are certainly going to gain weight. After Food Strap 1 follows Food Strap 2 - the limited editions started today and I went along and forced my producer to super-size his meal too ^^; Today walked away with a muffin and hash potato.

The Smart Doll version is looking to cost quite a bit but still cheaper than the price of standard dolls that can be found on auction sites.

We are also developing a much more affordable standard frame version too and we've done that using a tool called Solid Works which enables us to do collision detection.

Some of you may have already noticed that this is the year that I focus a lot of resources into developing Mirai Millennium and aim to have a scenario complete by November.

Character development is still something I'm new to but am learning loads as I go along and hope to pass back to you these leanings. Hopefully if things go as planned, achievements will be visible by the end of this year.

Everybody is prepared with a business card and I recommend that you have one too. It does not matter if you are student or unemployed - a business card is a tool that you need to build your career and life. Actually - being unemployed is probably the main reason why you *need* a business card.

More about building your career in the How to write a resume post.

We usually get one with the Ema (the wooden plaque) so went for the one with the ceramic dragon instead. We got a small one that cost 1,000 yen.
