The Caravaggio Opal pendant has a classic feminine design with a very soft lighting effect. The lamp is a perfect solution for example in kitchens as it gives the whole room a warm atmosphere. For info about the lamp

These new Triobikes are growing in popularity. You can use it as seen, you can use the front box as a stroller or you can pop on a front wheel and you have a regular bike.

Ole is the Espresso Man and he serves delicious coffee on his custom cargo bike in the pedestrian streets of Copenhagen.

He is fully mobile and if business is slow in one spot, he pedals off to find more lucrative pastures on his Sorte Jernhest [Black Iron Horse] brand bike.

This is the catalog from a show I saw in Copenhagen at the Kunstindustrimuseet (Danish Museum of Art & Design) back in 2001. The show featured installations that blurred the lines between craft, art and design. The graphic design was done by e-Types, check out their site, they have done some amazing projects!

This geezer was hanging on the harbour watching the construction work on the other side. What a wicked ride, that little electric car.

Resting in between takes for her next film. She says it is quite a departure from the dystopia of her previous series.

"TURBO was created by Louis Weisdorf in 1965 and manufactured by Lyfa.

TURBO is a very simple design containing 12 identical white-sprayed spiral shaped segments made of aluminium whose exterior follow the face of a globe. This implies that the light does not blind, as the bulb is screened. Due to the vertical placement of the 12 segments the lamp is easy on dust and easy to clean. TURBO gives a functional and exquisite diffuse light and sends a pleasant gloom onto itself and its surroundings.

At the Hannover fair in 1973 TURBO was nominated by an international jury to be shown at the special show ‘Die Gute Industrieform’, where TURBO received the IF73 award. Still in year 2005 TURBO is recognized as a classic design light being included in “1000 Lights” in Taschen’s Decorative Arts series."

I just love mine ;-)

I had the best weekend. Sometimes it is almost irritating to see how people find thrown away vintage furniture just like that, and you pay your ass off to vintage dealers to get what you like. :)

This time I am the irritating one. I bought this 1960s design sofa with palisander (rosewood) legs AND a matching coffee table from a lovely old lady who lived her life in Helsinki (and bought these brand new from a furniture store in Helsinki) and now moved to Oulu where I live.

She wanted to buy something nice to her new apartment and wanted to sell this old sofa and the table. The deal was made with the help of his very friendly nephew. I paid 200 euros for the sofa and 100 euros for the table and I was thrilled!

This sofa model is veeeery hard to find nowadays so I hit the jackpot! And I love the look of them. They are stunning! I will of course renovate these.. new upholstery and some TLC for the wooden parts.

This pre-1950 ceramic bird was produced by Michael Andersen & Sons of Bornholm, Denmark. It was found in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Another of the new buildings sprouting out of the earth in Copenhagen's new suburb, Ørestad. This one is called Boligslangen - Serpentine Structure in English. A snake-like complex of flats.
