Another shot taken from this beautiful headland but I was standing a little higher up as you can see. The slate area where I stood before was past this point and a little lower down on the lower right but was actually quite safe.

Warnings can be a very good thing though leaving the decision with you.

Although looking at the descent to the beach it is highly unlikely that I would have attempted it myself anyway...The wave action is more apparent around the base of the cliff and more noticeable in this shot. I could easily have cropped or cloned out the sign but chose to leave it in...open to critique though.

The one-way Firehole Lake Drive takes you through the woods and back to a place where hidden geysers and thermal features that can't be seen from the road, are found. Several pullouts and parking areas along your drive make it easy for you to get out of the car and take your time admiring these natural wonders. This is also where Great Fountain Geyser is located. Great Fountain Geyser is the only geyser not in the Upper Geyser Basin that is predicted at the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center. Eruptions 100 ft. high shoot out from a pool of water in a magnificent display. The road continues on and squeezes between Firehole Lake and Hot Lake before taking you back into the woods where it eventually meets back up with the main road right across the street from the Fountain Paint Pot parking lot and boardwalk. Ample parking is available at Firehole and Hot Lakes with boardwalks leading you along the banks of the steaming water. RVs, buses and trailers are not permitted on this road due to narrow sections along the way. Pick up an Old Faithful Area Trail Guide at any visitor center so you can read about all the different features and stops around Firehole Lake Drive. [Source: www.youryellowstonevacation.com/index.php?p=region&re...] Yellowstone's Firehole Lake Drive is a 3-mile, one-way side road off the Grand Loop located between the Old Faithful exit and Madison Junction. It has many geysers and hot springs visible from the road. There is also a boardwalk around the Firehole Lake itself, leading you to small geysers and springs. Yellowstone National Park is a national park located in the U.S. states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first National Park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of its most popular features. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion. [Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowstone_National_Park]

The lighthouse at Penmon Point was built after the tragic disaster of the steam ship Rothesay Castle in 1831. When a day trip from Liverpool turned to tragedy with the loss of passengers and crew, it was decided that a lighthouse and accompanying Lifeboat Station was needed. The lighthouse watches over the treacherous waters between Penmon Point and Puffin Island, south east Anglesey, Wales, UK

There's always a danger from goofs and...snakes. Not sure what snakes, since we don't really have any dangerous snakes around here. There is however, no shortage of dangerous goofs.

Warning signs and power lines at Stevens Pass Ski area in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State.

Photographed with an Olympus ∞ Stylus Zoom DLX 35mm Camera. The film is Ilford FP4+ developed in Beerenol (Rainier Beer). I hacked the DX code on the film cassette so the camera would expose it at ISO 50 instead of 100. This was to help with exposure in the snow.

Book Banning is such an awful thing,... parents who want to care for their kids challenge books and then... they perhaps ar banned... Banned Book week is a great celebration... celebrate freedom of speech and press is what they want to say... and these parents who "care" for their kids i cant understand them... they let them watch tvtvtv and play violent videogames but books shall be difficult? weird ^^

Some of the houses in the North Lincolnshire village of Appleby had some 'scarecrows' in the garden as part of the 1940s weekend. There was music, dancing, an aeroplane fly past. There was singing, people dressed as soldiers, sailors and RAF personnel. Then there was the scarecrows. On this occasion Bugs Bunny here is wearing his tin helmet just in case this UXB goes off....

Moonee Ponds Creek bathed in late afternoon light in winter.

Australia is great country to explore winter light outdoors in. By northern hemisphere standards we have mild winters. Temperatures rarely drop below freezing during the day. Overnight temperatures often drop this low. Even then Snow in Melbourne is so infrequent you can almost say never.

This section of the creek is seeing some rapid changes. Due in part to the Metro Tunnel works. A more contemporary part of this ares is here, www.flickr.com/photos/s2art/50121871066/in/dateposted-pub...

Is there anyone who sees a sign with an arrow pointing up that has the willpower not to look up? I think it's highly unlikely. We are creatures of curiosity even if it could mean the threat of certain death.
