There are snow clouds breezing by, and these dancers are pumping up the marathon runners who are about to race along the Han River. Freezing cold, they showed a lot of spirit for upwards of ten minutes, then put their heavy coats back on and left. The guy in the background is an interruption, I know, but I haven't decided how to crop this.
Dancejathre is an artistic hub for dance professionals and for the art audience. The dance fair is a festival, marketplace, discussion platform, network zone and much more which is aimed at broadening the horizons of dance, to bridge the gap between the arts and the common man.
This is a festival by the dancers, of the dancers and for the dancers!

This was the reason why Kristen & I were in Orlando... her dance teams performed at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). ALL the dancers were amazing!
They had a Disney dance workshop on Friday night, learned a routine from an Epcot Disney performer, learned about head shots/resumes and what Disney looks for in auditions. Then Goofy came in at the end and danced with them!
Saturday evening, they danced on stage at Disney Springs.

One of the dancers then surprises the viewers by drinking something from a coke bottle (which smells strongly of kerosene) and spitting out a thick flame from his mouth. Yes, and despite the fact that flash was allowed, I took this picture without flash for effect, to highlight the plume of fire that dancer has just spat out from his mouth. (Disclaimer: Do NOT try this at home). (Singapore, Oct. 2009) A NOTE ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY AT NIGHT SAFARI, SINGAPORE: The use of flash (strobe) is strictly prohibited and you need to shoot pictures of moving animals, or still animals from a moving tram, in almost pitch dark. (barring very low moonlight- like lighting in places). So all my pictures from the Night Safari are fuzzy, blurred, not sharp and lack colour.
Two weeks ago I did a photoshoot for an African dance group. The energy from the teacher (left in picture) was so powerful, and the students were so excited. The beating rythm of the djembe, all the dancers and the bright colours gave the whole situation a dynamic boost.

STG Presents
The 15th Annual DANCE This brought together teen performers from diverse communities for collaboration and to share their culture through the art of dance. The performance featured young local dancers in collaboration with professional artists performing dances from across cultures—both traditionally rooted and contemporary in form. Featured guest artists include Jennie Ford from Broadway'sEVITA staging two numbers on young dancers with guest soloist Mamie Parris, formerly Elphaba on the WICKED national tour; 8 Flavahz, a hip-hop group from LA/Hawaii who were runners-up on America's Best Dance Crew; Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of Brooklyn and choreographer Jamel Gaines; Hip-Hop choreographer and DANCE This Artistic Director, Daniel Cruz; nationally and regionally recognized contemporary choreographer Amy O'Neal and alumni dancers; NW Tap Connection; Pacific Ballroom Dance from Auburn; Morning Star Korean Dance; Slieveloughane Irish Dance Company; and UW Bollywood Kahaani Dance Team. Over 150 dancers and musicians celebrated this magnificent program!
