Dancing Ledge is part of the Jurassic Coast near Langton Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, England. Dancing Ledge is a flat area of rock at the base of a small cliff. A little scrambling is required for access. It is signposted on the South West Coast Path a few kilometres west of Swanage. Dancing Ledge is so called because at certain stages of the tide when the waves wash over the horizontal surface, the surface undulations cause the water to bob about making the ledge appear to dance.

I stumbled across these dancing trees in a swamp when I was out hiking.
I had to have a fast shutter speed since the ground was very unstable both for me and the tripod..

During spring adders will engage in a behaviour known as the ‘dance of the adders’, this is when two adders rise up and sway back and forth with entwined bodies. This display is usually between two males combating for the scent of a female.

Not sure if it was me or the rays from the sinking sun that was doing most of the dancing. The sea was lively and I had to dodge some significant 'splashes'. Managed to avoid a soaking though. Lovely to finally get out for a few minutes!
Portwrinkle is a small coastal village in south-east Cornwall. It is at the western end of Whitsand Bay. It was traditionally a fishing village and the old 17th century walls of the pilchard cellars are still standing, although they have been incorporated into housing. The village has two beaches that are accessible from it, one of which has a harbour.
