Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual outdoor Battery Dance Festival went virtual this year, like so many other performances.

So there was no live festival and most of the international dance companies that participated did so via video.

But NYC let the Festival film a handful of the performers live, albeit in the very early morning, as a way to discourage curious onlookers. These are some of the companies that participated; but this necessarily is a very small sampling.

"Dancing Ladies" are among the most popular and easiest to grow. The common name comes from the shape of the flower which resembles a lady with her arms outstretched on the top with a skirt-shaped lip below.
