Edgar Degas (French, 1834–1917) was fascinated by the world of ballet. Bringing together about 30 paintings, works on paper, and sculptures from some of the world’s finest collections, the exhibition traces ballet in Degas’s art from the 1870s to 1900. The first exploration of Degas’s dancers in Washington, D.C., in 25 years, this exhibition celebrates the Phillips’s Dancers at the Barre (early 1880s–c. 1900) as a crowning achievement in the artist’s four decade career and presents discoveries from its recent conservation. Immersing the visitor in the world of Degas’s studio, the exhibition uncovers the intricate process behind this late masterpiece.

Studio 9 was a restaurant beside the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok where students at a dance school here, Patravadi Theatre, performed on weekends for diners. The dancer here is the head choreographer and principal dancer.
Sadly, Studio 9 is closing.
And Bangkok is all set for more unrest in the next week.
If only life were as simple as an intention, a movement, a dance.
